Jenn-you sound stressed! Me thinks you and your hubby should look up the cure for a Headache that I posted on another thread [Headache]. It's also good for stress.

My wife is a teacher and she thinks she has a full time job. I tried to tell here that she has a part time job because she only works 30 hours per week and that most people work 60-70 hours per week....she did not get it.

She works hard during that time but she did not understand that MOST people consider working 30 hours a week a part time job.

chris L 12-13-2007 02:33 PM

not to mention teachers have the most time off in a year ( summer and every holiday and snow day )

I get a nickle, boss gets a dime thats why I crap on company time.

If it grows on company time , it gets cut on company time...:zup:

I'm married to a retired high school spanish teacher. I used to try to tell her things like this. My advice is; just let it go because eventually you are going to piss her off and it's not worth it! :bl:

I need a game that allows me to catch fish during work hours.

chris L 12-15-2007 12:26 PM

being a teacher is a hard gig . you want to smack the little bugger but rules say otherwise and mom and dad are useless tree huggers who would never use a switch to disipline the little bugger . some kids are so dumb you get frustrated to the point of exploding . I wouldnt do it unless I was the casting coach or shop teacher .

Teflondon 12-16-2007 12:13 AM

Left a job once (only a part-time side job) cause I got sick of hearing the manager give the excuse that the fully staffed second shift were all just kids (18 to 20) and she couldn't hold them to the same standard as she could the third shift where I was the youngest at 28. Couple times of that and I was gone. At 14 my first boss expected 8 hours of work for 8 hours pay. He had no problem ripping us a new one or docking the pay. You lose an hours pay for standing around for 5 minutes and you learn work ethic real quick. He has been thanked for that more than once when I run into him.

Dock me an hour because you think that I goofed off 5 minutes and you've started something very ugly. It's just the way that I respond to bullies no matter where I am. One way or another the score will be set right. The Labor Board used to work well.

Karl F 12-16-2007 10:55 AM

my use of time, was questioned ONCE, (several years ago)... after that, I went by the clock, and the clock alone, (my actual prescribed hours, not actually doing things that needed to be done, as they needed to be done)... after a week or so, i recieved an apology, and was more or less told, to manage my time, as i saw fit.

Unless the person gets caught by the boss it's no big deal.If the person knows that you know what they are doing and it aggravates you they will keep doing it and get worse.Personally I would try and do the same as the other person and try and get the reaction.Eventually it will turn into the classic battle of who can do less and get away with it.Classic game I've been playing it for years now.It really never ends and makes the days drag for what seems like forever .:hf1::spin::hf1:
