don

Im sorry to hear of Jeffs blockage . He is lucky that it was caught when it was or else they would have to bypass the blockage . With the stents have him make sure above all else he takes the medication (clopidogrel ) they give him to coat his stents from any further exclusion at that spot . then its low cholesterol diet and exersise . I have 3 in since 1997 .

I hope the best for him

Hope he gets better soon. I got a stent in the main pipeline ---LAD. You don't even know its there.

Anyway , the doctors will be checking him closely now so hopefully he won't have any more issues.

Here's including you, your son, and Jeff's family in our thoughts and prayers. Speedy and full recovery, and here's hoping that he embraces the new diet and this second chance he's been given............

All the best to you and them, from us!

He will be fine if he changes his diet and quits smoking. I got my first stent at the age of 47 after a major MI and a full occulsion of my Right Corenary Artery (RCA). I had 4 more put in until I finally said enough and had them do a quad bypass. Changed my diet, exercise, quit drinking, etc. Fine since the bypass in May of 03.
The one big problem with stents is even the coated stents will eventually block with plaque unless he changes his diet to low fat/fat free and gets on some cholestrol drugs like Lipitor, Crestor, Tricor, etc.

I wish him the best but let him know that he is in control of his destiny.

Don, I am so sorry to hear about Jeff, but at least he got to the doc in time. Scary, but it is becoming far too common in guys our age.

Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery! Get well soon, and hope to see the both of you back out slinging wood on PI in time for the spring run.

Thanks to all. Jeff is doing fine. He had the last balloon removed today and is looking better than I have seen him look in a long while. The Docs at MGH told him that they opened up three arteries that had lots of blockage. With a lifestyle change or two he will be OK. :musc:
