At least it wasn't the Jets.

It wasn't Eli and his crew so much, it was Strahan and his crew and thier defensive coach from guess where?
Grafton Massachusetts. They outplayed the Patriots, pure and simple. Got to give them credit, they wanted it more and they were the better team tonight. Congratulations Giants. |
I have to admit

I'm usually a gracious winner, and my congrats to the Pats on a great season. I'm glad my Giants won, but I would rather that they would have beaten any other team to do it.
But Bass Dawg--this one's for you:whackin::bshake: |

Well deserved WIN for your team and congrats. You smashed us in the mouth and we got beat like little school girls on the offensive side of the line, on the sidelines and in the headsets, and we missed far too many tackles, fumbles, and INT's that are difference makers in games of this magnitude. Well Done, New York Giants! I root for my teams the way that I fish, balls to the wall, all or nothing. I've never been one to go at half-speed in any of my atheletic endeavors, and I will admit some blindness when it comes to these Pats. However, I did call the Boss and Bradshaw factors. I also mentioned our poor tackling issues that were a season long pariah, and the fact that Plax cannot be allowed to make the big play, because he will if the situation presents itself. Should've known something was up when Belichick didn't kick the FG, WHAT!!! Never walk away from points, NEVER!!! imho, the poor coaching far outweighed the poor execution and lack of hustle. Tough hit to take, but as TRUE champions ALWAYS do, these Pats will get up, dust themselves off, and get back into the ring for next year. The Sooners have an expression, that came out of the Switzer Years, while i was attending The University of Oklahoma in Norman. I'm sure it goes back to the Bud Wilkinson and Chuck Fairbanks days as well. It goes like this, "We don't rebuild, we RELOAD!!". Enjoy it while ya can, Giants, as well you should! Just be advised, we'll be waiting for ya next year and maybe this time we'll be the dawgs and you'll be the big and baaadddd favorites. I do like this rivalry onehelluvalot better than the Colts/Bolts combined. Eli is way more likeable than crybaby Peytie! Still a little raw, Mike P, but i yam getting better................... |
You can't create a rivalry. They have to happen on their own. To be honest, I can't see the Giants being favored, and they have a much tougher road back to SB 43 than you do. The NFC east and the AFC south were the two strongest divisions this year, and I expect the NFC east to be even tougher. The Cowboys are also a young team and they're not going to get worse, the Eagles are always going to play their division rivals tough, and the Redskins were a playoff team this year and have an owner who is not afraid to spend money to try to win a SB. The NFC as a whole is improving and next year 10-6 may not even get a wildcard. Plus, now that the Giants are the champs, every team on their schedule will be gunning for them, and they will have to play a first place schedule. I'd say their chances of getting there aren't nearly as good as the Pats. You can pencil the Pats in as AFC east champs next year right now. They'll open up no worse than at 6-1 odds of winning the Super Bowl, IMO.
