That being said I liked your story......but I most certainly would have given him a big "sorry.....can't help you out with that"......and carried on! Were you still under their employ at the time of the July 4 incident? It is a good story though....you are a better man than me I guess.....I would have let them flounder and enjoyed the fact that they are the idiots that were letting me go so let them eat worms!

I think there are certain jobs and industries where boorish behavior might not cause you problems when looking for a new job. In TDF's industry, a bad reference can be the difference between a nice, well paying job to support your family, or working nites stocking shelves at a big box retailer for $10 an hour. If it came down to telling my boss to shove it or supporting my family, I'd choose supporting my family every time.

Given the right circumstance I'd drop heat on my bosses dome.
