:laugha: well you know what I mean.. Insurance is a form of socialism.

I was watching CNN. It's killing Blizer to have to cover the RNC. He wants to make the17 year old kid today's top story. It's actually kind off comical if you watch him.

RIJIMMY 09-01-2008 05:25 PM

How can any liberal have an issue with her pregnancy?

Because it is something to poke in her "squeaky clean" demeanor.

They are grasping at straws.

Its the 'ethics'.. You know the saying practice what you preach?

It would be like a great bass fisherman like my self fishing for choggies.... :hihi:

McCain knew about this pregnancy before they asked her to be VP.
The liberal media and blogs will have a field day.
But Obama and Biden need to be very careful on how they handle commenting on this. To me, it looks like it could be a trap.
Or, the RNC was adamantly against her selection and this is another example of McCain being his own man.
I don't see her as being as good a selection as she was four days ago.

buckman 09-01-2008 06:54 PM

Obama has said all he right things about this situation. I give him credit. He also admitted that his mother was only 18 when he was born.

The religeous right is more tolerant then you give them credit. They will welcome her daughters decision and commend the young man for taking responsability.

Yet the religious right went out of their freaking minds about Gloucester.

You can't have it both ways.

buckman 09-01-2008 07:05 PM

You should be out of your freaking mind about Gloucester.

Wow, is this what you've degraded to? C'mon man, come up with a reasonable response.
And they're not my kids. Its not my problem.

The Dad Fisherman 09-01-2008 07:25 PM

funny how alot of you are stating that its nobody's business but her and her family's and why are the Dems bringing this out and the liberal media yada yada yada

I thought the same thing about a certain president getting a hummer from a certain intern....didn't think it was anybody's business but his and his wife's....but that got slung across the news for weeks on end.

This is the reason you will NEVER have a good presidential candidate again...no one with any common sense would put themselves and their families through this

It is when the hummer becomes a distraction for a nation and a risk to national security taht makes it news. I think at the time we could have had Osama from Sudan. And what the President does in the White House (and the judgement it showed) and what a 17 year old kid in Alaska does, is not quite the same. I wonder if any of the canadates or their immediate family, had unprotected sex before they were 18. Besides Obama's Mama.

No, they're the parents problem since they're minors.
Jesus, have some personal responsibility.

JohnR 09-02-2008 07:18 AM

This sadly cracks me up.

As I sit on the fence that runs between Dems and 'Pubs I see vast seas of people on both sides launching arrows, mooning each other, spit balls and reading talking points from the Scritpers on both sides. I realize a few things:

I love America

I wish we would grow the bleep up.

OK, 'nuff said, back to our regularly scheduled program; "Is Palin's unborn grandchild really a surrogate son? Tune into CNN at 9 for the latest. Afterward, Larry King interviews the Personal Trainer for the Uncle of the next President (pending elections), Barry Obama with leaking news that VP candidate of the loosing party (pending elections) Sarah Palin is actually a cousin to President (pending elections), Barry Obama, several generations removed..."

FOX News will be next

personally I think that it has nothing to do with Liberals vesus Wingers....its just one group of childish a-holes trying to make another group of childish a-holes look bad. They're like a bunch of Prep-school cheerleaders.

They ALL play the same crap and its pretty friggin disheartening.

....and a risk to national security, give me a break, what, was there microfilm hidden in that cigar.

Please return your basket to its upright and locked position.

RIROCKHOUND 09-02-2008 07:33 AM

I think Obama handled it the right way. The media pounced, on both sides, and it wasn't right.

What it does raise, is any middle of the road people with mixed feelings or no opinion on abortion, is that if McCain/Palin is elected and appoint the judges they want, then another parent or child in the same situation as Palin's daughter will have less options down the road. I'm not for abortion as birth control, but the choice and option should be there. Not every 17y/o is ready for kids and marriage!

you guys confuse the religious right with the repub party. Thats like saying the pink army (or whatever those berkely cooks are) are representative of the Dems.
How is this an ethical issue? Who lied about it? How do you know what her parents preached? The daughter is old enough for the age of consent, made her decision and now has to live with it. What I preach is ACCOUNTABILITY, don't make me pay for the support of that child.

So it looks like we have a woman with a bunch of kids, one on the way to Iraq, one with Down Syndrome, one pregnant. Sounds like you cant find someone more in touch with America than that!

I can care less, but he lied under oath in a case against him by another woman he was banging. That I have an issue with as a President and a lawyer.

mekcotuit 09-02-2008 08:17 AM

Of course, Bristol Palin is not the first vice-presidential child to be pregnant out of wedlock. That honor goes to Mary Cheney. (Perhaps this is something the GOP vetting committee looks for?)

But at least Bristol is allowed to get married!!

RIJIMMY 09-02-2008 08:22 AM

Actually from a strategy perspective, looks like this may have been a brillinat choice by McCain
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Key evangelical leaders rallied to Sarah Palin's support Monday amid news that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, was having a child.

Sarah Palin confirmed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant.

"Before, they were excited about her, with the Down syndrome baby," conservative, anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said. "But now with this, they are over the moon. It reinforces the fact that this family lives its pro-life values."

And completely ignore her ABSTINENCE ONLY stance that she is ADAMANT about.

Worked great for her family!

Joe 09-02-2008 01:09 PM

Those evangelicals all come from that uptight town in Footloose.

Bronko 09-02-2008 01:17 PM

This would be a non issue with most liberals. They would have aborted this baby long ago.
