Do you guys really think that it will only be 700 billion to clean this up??? I've heard rumors of the T word being used. Trillion. Any one want to bet a nice needle fishplug? How about blue?

Regardless of the reality--the perception among most of the electorate will be that McCain came in and blew up a done deal. Unless something is hashed out today--and the actual blame crosses party lines and is centered in the House--get ready for President Obama.

justplugit 09-26-2008 09:20 AM

Not to worry, Obama said, "call me if you need me."

Talk about pretentious and not having a grasp on the seriousness of this problem.

sokinwet 09-26-2008 10:05 AM

Judging from comments on last nights news it appears that both sides of the aisle are stating that the presence of McCain & Obama is detrimental to the debate on the economic turmoil as it immediately infuses politics into what had been rational across the aisle cooperation.

Mike P 09-26-2008 11:15 AM

This is the hard core right wing of House Republicans. They don't give a rat's ass about McCain. To them, he's always been a "RINO" and a closet liberal. They'd rather see an Obama win, pray that he flops, and get one of their true believers in there in 2012.

Palin at #2 wasn't enough of a sop to them.

RIJIMMY 09-26-2008 12:01 PM

thank you house repbulicans for putting the brakes on a rushed deal.

EarnedStripes44 09-26-2008 12:26 PM

i know this a little off topic? Anybody see the Sarry Palin/ Katie Couric interview?

I think Palin is a little short on intellectual horsepower. I need to know if John McCain can hold on for the next 4 years because Palin at the #1 spot is concerning. If Obama is bad off the cuff, Palin is just plain sleeveless.

sokinwet 09-26-2008 12:36 PM

Anyone who didn't see the interview should read the text....then tell me this woman is fit for the VP job.

i dont think thats all of it. They are airing more of the interview tonight, so some has not been released yet.

Joe 09-26-2008 01:29 PM

Painful performance for Palin...fortunantly, the news cycle is busy. She still looks good though.

slapshot 09-26-2008 02:39 PM

Nobama is no better, he says he has visited 57 states during his campaign. Is he including his stops on the European tour?

RIJIMMY 09-26-2008 02:59 PM

that was painful and her naition-building comments really tick me off.
I can care less if other countries are democratic. Thats why we have nuclear weapons. Sand, rock and ash are no threat to our way of life. I dont want kids dying to bring democracy to people that wont fight for it themselves.

RIROCKHOUND 09-26-2008 03:14 PM

I thought she was your new messiah :-P

Debate is back on.
Game on tonight.

It was painful to watch that interview, but that's what you get in a "got you" forum. Courics mission was to make her look bad. Palin sure has alot of work to do before the debates. I'm worried, but I know who I'm not voting for.

No, Couric's mission was to test her. It was up to Palin to succeed or fail...
