A couple of friends and I saw the Ramones in Hull at Uncle Sams...we hung outside for awhile before and met them...tried to get in for free asking to carry in the guitars :laughs:...they were really cool, but turned us down..and said that was how they made money....we were punks :laughs:....btw the show as pissah....

I saw the Dave Matthews Band at MSG in 1997. Great show.

The best show was the Allman Brothers at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan about 4 years ago. I saw them on their 7th consecutive day and they were still tight as anything.

Best shows I've been to have to be Pantera in 2001 and Clapton in 2001 too.

I saw Joe Jackson at the Somerville Theater last year. Small venue, only a bass and drums for backup, but an awesome show.

I've seen most all the names already mentioned, but my most memorable is for the amount of enjoymenmt of the event - Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at UMass spring concert in 1977. The final show of a long day of bands. They really cooked and interacted with the audience for great time.

Also at UMass - Aerosmith at Curry Hicks Cage in 1974. Small venue, to say the least. The entire spring concert was moved to the Cage from the Stadium because of rain. They were just hitting it big. I think 'Dream On' had just made the charts.

Great memories.

by far ,,, Janis Joplin ,, Merriweather Post Pavillion in Marryland when I was 15 . She was wild .. She drank a big bottle of Southern Comfort during her performace . I was out of my seat and pressed against the stage ..What a job she did on "Ball and Chain" .. There some deep blues there brother .. Her voice was so sweet and raspy at the same time .

A friend of a friend was in the metalica fan club and got us "good" seats. When we showed up to the Fleet center front door, they had us go to this special office. We thought the tickets were fake and we were in deep do-do. They said there's a problem the stage is too big so the seats you got aren't there. But we made some "extra" seats you might like..Pffttt... It was on the fleet center Ice and everyone was behind where the glass usually is We were in folding chairs right along the stage. where the ice would be. The friggin heat from the pyros could melt your eybrows. Unreal!!
Two of my friend got to go back stage and load up on autographs and schwag as well

Me and my bud saw Jainis at one of the Newport Festivals when she was at the top of her game - and yup, she had a bottle of SC stashed behind the amps, and between songs she'd reach back and take a hit off it like it was soda pop :eek5:

Dammmnnn, that girl had a tank - whew.

She was excellent with Big Brother behind her and yeah, she absolutely wailed.

Another sad case of too young, too soon.

Has to be J Geils - Is there anyone who had more energy than Peter Wolf on stage? The Pawtucket cops had to drag him off stage at the Leroy Concert Theater at 12:30 am - concert curfew was 11pm.

Gabriel when he was with Genesis in the 70s was a great show.

thats crazy Tyler. i was at that Rage show in Worcester back in 99 too. we were sitting in the balcony and everyone started rushing the stage so i was like F this, i'm going down there. it was friggin nuts, security guards were pummeling dudes. somehow i managed to break through and almost made it all the way to the stage. it was friggin crazy, everyone jumping up and down. definitely one of the sickest shows i've ever been to.....

i can't even begin to think of THE best show i've ever seen. seen a lot of outstanding shows from '97-'06. if i could pick 2 it would be the 2 nights that the disco biscuits played in queens at the amazura(i think thats what its called). craziest 2 days/nights of my life coupled with outstanding music...

Eric clapton during his blues tour,jimmy vaughn opened up for him and at the encore they both played together,eric clapton's hand is better than whole bands

Derrick Trucks is a phenom for sure. he was like 16 or something ridiculous when he started playing the Allman Brothers..

Pantera was the best live band Ive ever seen, hands down.
Marilyn Manson was definitely a cool one too, on the antichrist tour. I think I was the only one that didnt have makeup and nylons on at the strand that night. Quite the scene

I went to the anniversary edition in the 90's. Very cool. Lots of naked muddy people. :biglaugh:

I got to see Springsteen at the Palladium in NYC in 76 or 77. Also saw him at the Stanley in Pittsburgh I believe in 78. All of them were incredible shows and closest thing I have ever seen to something like a revival meeting as the entire crowd was going out of control. I saw Joan Armatrading at the Beacon once around the walk on ladders album and it was incredible from the lights to a super hot band I was floored. I do not know whether I had low expectations going in but she was tops and played great lead guitar on both acoustic and electric.
First time I saw Richard Thompson play electric at the bottom line was great. Allmans are always top even this years run at the Beacon was amazing. They are so good you kind of expect a level of greatness and rarely do they disappoint. The current band may be better than the original line up.

Back in the early 80s I saw I LOT of shows @ the Paradise. (saw a lot of comedy shows @ Stiches next door also)
One that ranks high on my list was Tower Of Power w/ Chester Thompson on keyboards.
