i bought mine 6 years ago on eangler.com on sale for 415bucks. everyone thought i was nuts...

i wish i bought 2 more back then :(

I think it is more of an alternative than anything. The new reel may be something that would not qualify as bombproof or perhaps not targetting swimming surfcasters.
