:kewl:Since I don't surf fish anymore...I guess it would be ok to give up all my spots.......maybe I'll do a seminar;)...I wouldn't do that to my fellow comrades...not my style...I have to much respect for the hard work we put in to find the holy grail that we all seek.....Been there done that... I guess some guys just won't get it.....until it hits them at home..:hs:

keep all the spots you've worked out to yourself, doesn't really matter to me! But for you to be riding high on your horse and to imply that you've never worked off information you gathered from other people in just....oh how to put it so you read it right.....BULL pucky!!!! Have you ever read anything about any of the spots you fish? Ever talk to a friend about a spot? I wish i was born with the knowledge to beable read a flow or to understand the effects of the tide in a rip, but i was not and had to learn for myself and with the help of others....INCLUDING Steve m. and the great guys at the edge. Passing along the knowledge we aquire is crucial to our sport and we need to Help each other out! Jumping on a guy that has given his knowledge freely to new and seasoned anglers alike is just plain IGNORANT! As you stated you fish from a boat, so go and enjoy it and keep all your secret, holy grail spots to yourself and pray that no one ever finds them! Good luck! Just Be glad that no one has ever published secret places like the mudhole or cuttyhunk or sow and pigs! Maybe thats why I've never seen anyone out there...Cause there secret..Right! You know what..Its not worth it i have tail hooks to tie.....Good luck fish18 Ps.... Hi jay didn't see your giantness there lastnight! |

okay f-18, i'll try to break this down for you, gently!
I disagree...Who gave anyone more rights than the other guy...Publicity???? it has nothing to do with Publicity,,,,,,,,,,,,it has more to do with the fact that those are his home waters and where he fishes and the spots that he has fished for more than 30 years. if he wants to use them to further his demonstration it is his choice and i feel that he's earned the right to talk about these places that have been known about for 100's of years, not just within your time frame of experience, guy. The locations may be "generic"..but the time, technique..etc..are not..Too much info.. very simply,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and we go to seminars for What reasons? Master???? Are u kidding me???How are you designated Master?? Jigging current..or an other technique is common sense and trial and error..don't ya think? uh nope, and just how many articles, seminars, lure creations can we credit to you, f-18? while jigging w/current is not rocket science, it is the way in which Steve speaks with certainty and his "been there, done that" style of presenting the basics that makes it more easily assimilated. couple that with his 3 decades of surfcasting and the ease with which he presents MOST anything he is willing to share with those of us who are still learing this sport and you have a surfcaster that speaks authoritatively and the knowledge that comes from someone who's landed several trophies and, imho and the humble opinon of others, would be considered a master when it comes to this surfcraziness that beckons us all. i mean to you he may just be another guy, and he is very accessible; yet, to me i am pleased and very fortunate to learn from him at every available opportunity,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks again Steve and Pete and Chris for ALL that youse guys do to promote our sport!! :kewl: :kewl: :kewl: :kewl: |
OHHH I"M TELLIN' your spot burning!!! Be careful some on here will be very cranky that you even mentioned anything that has the atlantic ocean touching it!!!:wall:

Hey Ray - I was up in Gloucster trying to help convince the wonderful people at NMFS not to give away our tuna fishery.
As for being kind to the home turf -- you could probably hand out charts and give directions online, nevermind a one-time webcast, and the average randy would get his arse killed trying to navigate Newport. Heck, I get a weekly invite for a guided tour from Ironman, and I'm not crazy enough to follow him out there. Seriously, this spot burning talk is lame. |

from yer recent posts regarding this particular topic, do you really want to be using the word FOOL? :bl: :bl:  lighten UP there Francis, it's just fishing/catching,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and believe me when i tell you i relish the hunt way more than the play. however, it is still ALL of it the sets me into motion. you are starting to sound like the skinny kid on the beach who gets sand kicked into his face their tough guy, with statements like~~~ "since i don't care to fish the surf anymore,,,,,,shall i go on?" what a bunch of whiney-arsed drivel! you poor thing,,,,,,,,,,,,you chose to go over to the dark side, so now you are going to belittle anyone of us who share our spots? and i suppose that you never got any numbers from anyone, ever read any Capt White, or ever spoke with Bill Nolan about live lining or eeling from the glass, huh? what a freakin' phony,,,,,,,,,,,,,,does Dave know yer taking credit for his designs and creations? while you may have consulted with him, and you may be one of his fishing buddies,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it is something entirely different to have invented and perfected a successful lure/style of rigging that has revolutionized our sport and been so damned successful. no offense their biggun, but do you honestly question Steve McKenna's abilities and legendary status along the Striper Coast? how BIG didjya say yer mirror is? :1poke: :scream: :scream: :1poke: |
I think enough has been said here...
Im going to close it.... JR can open if he wants |
