Nice.

Hows the trial going? Farmers market next year? :D

had a nice meal at Trio Wed... you looked too busy to chat!

Glad you had a good dinner. Yeah the place is a zoo, really busy looking forward to post labor day. I NEED to hit the surf hard, barely fished at all this year.
The trials have been extremely succsesful. All the chefs that i have given samples have been really excited and blown away by the quality. Looking to do farmers markets and restaurant sales next spring. Im going up to the dept of agriculture this week to find out all the details.

Just kidding, Chef - nicely done...:kewl:

My brother-in-law used to send us morelles every spring from the upper midwest......fresh morelles, lightly floured and fried in peanut oil with a horseradish-based dipping sauce...now that was my idea of something

But ya can't cultivate morelles though, can you...or can you...

Morels are my favorite mushroom. My parents grew up in the midwest also and told many stories of hunting trips with multiple shopping bags full! No, well mostly no as far as cultivation goes. There is one company that has a patened process to cultivate morels . There enviromental conditions that get them to fruit are very hard to reproduce indoors and they also have symbiotic relationships with plants/bacteria that cause them to fruit. ALso very hard to replicate. You can how ever grow morel spawn ( mushroom seed/roots) then put this outside in areas like old apple orchards or fairly recent burn sites. If your really lucky you might get some to grow the following year. I tried once under my parents apple trees with no luck.

Neither . They are fungi , not from plant kingdom. The goverment puts them in with the veggies though.
