The commercials kept saying it was going to be a special 2 hr show, ended up 1 hr normal show followed by the other show After the catch.

i thought the same thing.

It was well done and respectful. Poor f'ing Phil. I think he was only 53. That sucks. His drug addict son needs a good beat down. It makes me mad he's wallowing in his own problems while his Dad is dying. Pull it together for the old man.

It's not easy loosing a dad so young. but I caught "after the catch" and it looks like they are doing okay.. the younger one "looks" healthier so maybe it was a wakeup for him. They were also smoking those vapor cigarettes for some of it... so hopefully they are trying to quit that f*** habit. Though I don't believe most people do. Phil also left them plenty to stay on their feet it sounds like. They also have something many don't, a solid support system and a strong extended family. They will be ok.

Damn shame though...

They were also pitching next week's episode as a two HR special. Thought it was well done. Defiantely got the chills when Johnny started playing.

Was glad the kid was able to tell the old man he was going to get help.

Found it funny that the pitcher of CL in the middle of the table never changed it's level.

Mike Fourtner from the Time Bandit said it the best. I mean, let's be honest, they all said it one way or the other.

MF: He looked right at the camera and said, "All you couch potatoes watching this, you think to yourself, 'I can do that', <pause while looking at the camera with a huge grin> No, You can't!"

He is so right. Very few get the chance and some of those fail once they get it. Capt. Phil thrived on it. May he rest in peace.

Amen to that. Hard as hell. I had friends who went to Alaska after highschool to strike it rich on the fishing boats "$20,000 in a month! You won't make that in a year!"...every single one was home within 12 months saying it was horrible. Not everyone has the right combo of skills and huevos for that work.
