This needle...

Not sure what's to tell.
The skinny donny is just a heavily weighted (12-17 grams and a bit aft of midline) AYC swimmer that runs slightly subsurface and rolls out at anything over a crawl.......uses a mid slot lefty 2 a touch above midline, weighs about 3 oz. Nose fits the lip about .86 if I recall, belly is @1.22-1.25, and tail .5. Floats low and level. Paint 'em solid colors. Purple is great. Eddy's needle is birch, two buck shot weights each side of hook, and a tail weight. Weighs about 1.87 oz, and is 6 1/2". Flap used to like this size needle, and Eddy's has been a consistent fish taker for me everywhere I throw it. The musso darter is maple, sealed until the finished weight will come out 2.8-3.0 oz rigged with 3/0's. I fish them everywhere, current or not, and do best in surprisingly shallow water. Fished very, very slow, with more pauses and shakes than turns of the handle. Fish hit when it is paused. I have come to love parrot with a pearl lime sides. Gotten so I usually don't even carry another color, although yellow once that was my favorite. I think the parrot is better. |
Thanks for sharing G.
I had hoped to talk to you at PF, but your bags and xrays were such a hit that you were jammed up every time I went by. Jon |
