the site here does not condone black market, back door deals selling plugs. It is an event for trading plugs and methods and a place to learn buy supplies etc.
I am not in charge of security, we'll appoint that job to salty :)

UserRemoved1 11-24-2010 06:33 PM

There's a big difference between security and and selling plugs out of your trunk.

I'm hoping to make it for the first time, we'll see if the work schedule let's me.:soon:

O.D. Mike 12-02-2010 08:10 AM

Slipknot,
I have a plugfest request, can we have someone show how to make a darter in detail? I've read about the contraptions that are made to get the right angles needed for the darter to swim right. Could we also see the jigs that are builders have made?

Thanks,
Mike

Slipknot 12-02-2010 12:48 PM

You can request it sure :)
I'm not sure how easy it will be to get a volunteer
good idea though

Bummer, the 19th is a show in New Jersey called Surf Day. Was going to try to attend this year. Maybe next year.

Johnny 12-07-2010 07:25 PM

plugfest start time?

What time does plugfest start and end? It's my first time, I have the date as 2/19 at the Faternal Order of Eagle Hall. Do I have to have plugs or can I attend with out plugs (but would like to leave with something)

BigFish 12-07-2010 08:42 PM

Johnny you will leave with sensory overload!!:uhuh:

Thanks Big Fish, but I had to look up the term Sensory Overload and I still do not know if the event is an evening event or all day fun ! For other less read as I am the term Sensory Overload means, a condition where one or more of the senses are strained and it becomes difficult to focus on the task at hand, sounds like when I use to drink. All day or just evening event?

this will be my first year so im trying to get a idea of what to expect.

Don't get too excited about out of trunk specials, I've been to all and never seen that. It's a trade show of plug builders . If you want others plugs I suggest you bring trade bait .

I never look for somthin for nothin, too much work into building wooden plugs to expect a deal pulled from the trunk of a car, I'm certain to learn something, I do own a Shopsmith lathe, who knows I may give it a try someday.

Told my dad about it today. I plan on bringing him to see the quality of everybody's work (and show off his). I know he is looking forward to seeing BigFish again.

Hope you have a category for 90 year old plug builders. He is currently working on some flaptails (thanks for the great schematics on the flaptail thread). His Darters are killer as are his needles and stubby needles (see him and one of his plugs with one of my bass on the "own wood" thread).

Going to sign him up on Striped-Bass.com next time I visit him so he can follow the thread as well.

Looking forward to our first Plugfest!

Bill, I'd like to trade for a darter or more at the plugest. Looking forward to it

all plug builders are welcome

hardcore from shore 12-08-2010 11:59 PM

Looking forward to some trading with you as well. I am sure the other Bill (my dad) will be getting some additional plugs ready betwen now and then and I know he will want to talk plugs and learn more about making them.

They don't need an invitation and we don't send any! If they are a site sponsor they need to make such arrangements!:)
