|
That is so cool! Congrats!
|
Way to go Buddy, good for you love the pictures and it could not have happened to a better guy. Now we should have been out there in my boat but I will not comment at this time LOL
Great job!!! |
That's a great accomplishment, you never know what can be at the end of the line. Congrats!!!
If you cube a few of the steaks, soak in Italian dressing for 4 or 5 hours then grill they are very good. |

I know, I know,,, I was thinking about that when it was over. |
Threshers fight like beasts. Congrats that is a hell of a fish to catch on your Bass gear. I had one take me deep last year off the block and I never moved it. Wound up by straightening a 275 pound snap.
Great work. |
You should be very proud of that accomplishment definitely some luck in landing that beast on the gear you were using although the gear looks to be pretty beefy for bass. Very cool indeed and tasty to boot.
|
are you kidding me!!! Thats awesome....nicely done.

Van:
You'll remember this for a while. when I was 14 we hooked a Mako while bluefishing 3 miles from Newport and landed it on bass/bluefish gear. Stands up there in the memory bank with alot of other fishing highlights... The jaws still hang in my office. |

I was told NOT to boil it, as the teeth will fall out. I would like to preserve it, but don't know how. Anyone have methods????? |
Awesome, congrats Van!

So now I have a jar full of teeth.... pretty tough to hang on the wall. |
We cut most of the meat off and then hung it in the sun and let the bugs/birds at it. after it was good and dry I did short soaks in a weak peroxide-water solution with frequent rinses in plain water...

cool story! goes to show you never know! congrats
|
That is an awesome story! I love it! Good for you.

That is a big shark, makes me wonder how many there are close to shore.
|
Cut all the meat off it with a sharp razor knife, scrape with spoon etc to get it as clean as possible. Prop it in position with wood skewers and let it dry out for a few months

Incredible story and most-incredible pictures. One of the best I've seen on this site, a Thresher off Boston. What a beautiful day.
