Here are two pics, not the best... I have much better on my friends camera--I didn't bing mine that night (naturally)... I'll post them when I get them.

Thanks for all of the Congrats everyone... if I catch another one--ever--it's going back. Kind of wish I released this one too...

All the dishonest people died off, and we're left with truthful fishermen who release 70#+ fish to fight another day.
I looked at that Laptew photo real careful-like, and I think I could make out a faint halo above Blaine's head. No sh_t.

ProfessorM 05-27-2012 08:02 PM

Congrats Dave

Joe 05-27-2012 09:04 PM

Yes, congratulations. An important milestone for your efforts - good for you.

Dave, you deserve this fish. Don't feel bad because you kept her. It is what we do. She had bred for 20+ years and was at the end of her cycle. They don't live forever. I am as much a conservationist as anyone but for Chris sake it's a 50!!!

Canalman 05-28-2012 06:28 AM

Paul, thanks for the reassuring words, you're right, it's just one of those personal things I guess :).

Scotty... Glad someone noticed that!! When I got back to the car and changed out of my wetsuit, I couldn't find my other sock! We decided that was the redneck version of rolling up the pant leg of your swishy pants to show that you were packing.
