I may do this with my 1201l keep it as a backup. The Arra 1205 is going to be sold first, after i build the century 1327. Being an apt. Dweller, gear storage is an issue for me. So i am trying not to let my arsenal of rods grow much more.

You could rebuild your GSB1201L almost identical to the way you built the Stealth1. You could also look into doing the 1201L using the new Fuji KR system. You can see a video of the KR system on youtube under "Fuji KR concept from Anglers Resources". The KR line has the high 20 guide from in the no tangle shape. Of course they still don't have the KW in the 20H despite people asking for it for over a year now!!

Anyway , if you don't feel like working out a whole new KR concept I bet you could just exactly copy the Stealth 1 layout and it would work pefectly.

Back when I was about 33 and fishing 4 days a week in SoCo I could cast pretty far. I had the best equipment and I was very in shape and strong as an ox.

One day as we were all hanging around EB waiting for late fall schools to come by , out walks this kid about 15 years old with something like a Kmart 7 foot rod. He lets fly a cast that goes by my cast by 30 yards. Kid just had a natural nack for it!


Good technique beats the tallest , strongest , best geared up guy every time!

We all have a sweet spot. You know it's that point where the line hangin off the tip of the rod helps the weight of the plug load the rod the best to our power stroke.It may be 30 in,36in or longer. size or weight of plug makes a difference as to how long it is on each rod we use 9 ft to 11 or longer.Add to this the right power stroke an your distance climbs from there. But remember 30lb braid gets longer distance than 65 lb braid. Your spool needs to be properly filled.Plus not all plugs are made to cast distance. My 3 1/2 oz pencil is a finesse plug like a P-40, my 2.6 oz pencil flies like a rocket. So not all plugs are made to fish the middle of the ditch.So that's another variable to keep in mind.So remeber the rod is just part of a big puzzle. Tight lines Ron
