You have to get a separate policy for flood insurance.

which now most companies not even offer or if they do they are so outrageous expensive no one can afford them.

On renters insurance its one of the main things that is not covered, its only 10 bucks a month for 25,000 worth of coverage, so ill keep it for now.

Chef check to see if your policy has an "emergency relief" clause. When my office flooded last year we were not covered for flood, but there was a one time "emergency relief" that could be applied in any emergency situation. We were able to get a fair amount from the insurance. Although it wasn't even close to our losses it was at least some relief. I would think having to re-locate your primary residence would be considered "emergency relief". Good Luck. BTW we had to bring this up to the company, they did not offer the information.
