Great reel. Not totally dunkable like the regular VS, but great for the boat when it's just spray.

I'm getting one for this season. And I'll be picking it up at SWE - they've been nothing but solid to me and everyone else I know.

I want to thank Pete for resolving a 4 year old issue. Solid in my book! I was actually taken back by his professional responses and promptness once the facts were straight. Thank you! There will be a $100 gift card to the SWE at TCTFN on me.

Nice to hear it worked out.

SWE = good peeps

As for the question about the reel. I wouldn't recommend it. For a few more dollars you can pick up a used VS. or if you'd like to save a some money pick up a Saragosa. The Saragosas are bullet proof and easy to service.

I actually have a Saragosa 8000. It is an awesome reel and never had an ounce of trouble with it. I was looking for something smaller and came across this when I was shopping at #^&#^&#^&#^&s. More of an inshore/light tackle reel for schoolies. Still do not really want to spend $400 on an ocasional use reel. I think what I have is fine for now and I will concentrate my efforts on a larger VS for the surf.

Thanks for all the input guys.

I was having lunch at work way back when Bryan Cox was playing for the Patriots back in 2001, I think. We were talking about how well they were playing and without thinking, I said, way too loudly "I love Cox". The cafeteria got pretty quiet for a few seconds until a guy from my department started cracking up. Of course, the Senior VP of HR was sitting at my table.
