I was going to try and make the track down with Necker1 but was going to watch the weather and try to be smart about it, which no one has accused me of lately. :uhuh:

It was going to be a long day with the Plum Island show being early AM and on the opposite end of the state but I wouldn't miss TFCTGFN for anything. :buds:

IMO this is a smart move John. :drevil:

#1 reason: we want to keep everyone safe.

#2 reason: it would be a sin to see great guys who really participate in the site not be able to make it because they have to work pushing snow. :claps:

I know but it won't be bad for us, it will be bad for the guys inland. I also don't want to see anyone with a few beers in them hitting the snow. Not that people don't have Designated Drivers.

I'll have a better raffle table item with a couple more weeks anyway. Got a super customized, drilled out 704 i'm working on. Hopefully with a van staal manual line roller assembly if i can get it.

I will be in the area of the VFW on real estate business on Saturday at 3:30. If you have a game plan and need any assistance before that time, Saturday 3:30 let me know. Next time for that area is the following Tuesday by mid afternoon PS You do the calling and talking to the VFW before then.

Okay go ahead and cancel TFCTFN and leave me with
several hundreds of dollars worth of food. No consideration
at all for the able bodied. Just found out on web that large
smoked hams can be successfully frozen. So all you girly-

Got home from Florida yesterday. I would have stayed there till Sunday if I had known. I'll get word, to my nephews.

I didn't get a s-b certificate at the TFCTFN a few years ago for being a ball buster for nothing.

I called yesterday and didn't get anyone, left a message.

I called today, got someone, and they said Fri/Sat nights in April are booked.

May 11th is the next available Saturday there. Hmmm. Wonder where else we can have it?

There is an elks hall in the north end of Fall River with a hotel 30 seconds away. They have a kitchen and a bar

The search would be easier if a motel/hotel doesn't need to be within walking distance.
The VFW in Dartmouth Ma on 144 Cross Rd had a hall/kitchen available for Aoril 13th. No other dates available in April. The hall fits 100 people comfortably according to the contact oerson st the VFW. The VFW in Fairhaven holds 250 as a comparison. The cost is 200 for the hall and 50 for the kitchen. This is located near Fairhaven abutting Rt 6 near the Westport line and Kings Inn a totally nude strip joint. The Dartmouth VFW contact is Pat 508996-9599.

The Elks number is 508-672-9288 . The guy that picked up the phone stated that there are 3 different size halls and that for more information to call STEPHANIE on Monday morning.

ELKS in Fall River that Jay recommended. I called and


March - booked
April - only April 27, medium size lodge hall, Kitchen is Not available because it is booked with another party.

Now what? Read post #48, I was told it was more then half the size of the Fairhaven VFW site.
