All good comments...no doubt that the solution to the problem is wide ranging. The letter from the NY Coalition for Recreational Fishing to the NYSFC has some pretty good recommendations. You can read it here...http://www.nycrf.com/stripedbassreductionletter.pdf.

Nice recommendations. Send your thoughts here:

From the ASMFC

"We're looking forward to your thoughts on our 2014-2018 draft strategic plan. Read the report and see the public comment policy here:"

http://www.asmfc.org/files/Strategic...licComment.pdf

"The Commission is seeking your input on its proposed vision, driving forces, values, goals and
strategies as part of its strategic plan for the next five years (2014-2018). Comments must be
received by 5:00 PM (EST) on January 10, 2014. Regardless of when they were sent,
comments received after that time will not be included in the official record. The Commission
will consider public comment on this document when finalizing the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan.
This draft includes questions to help guide public input as well as specific examples from the
Draft 2014 Action Plan that illustrate how the goals/strategies of the Draft Plan would be
implemented on an annual basis. These questions/examples are highlighted in gray throughout
the document.
You may submit public comment in one or more of the following ways:

1. Attend public meetings held in your state or jurisdiction, if applicable.

2. Refer comments to your state’s Commissioners (visit http://www.asmfc.org/aboutus/

Writing to that address in response to that solicitation will accomplish NOTHING. If you want to influence striped bass actions write to the members of the Striped Bass Management board, their e-mail addresses are available on the ASMFC website.
