My biggest issue with this is with the Arbitrary Punishments that Goodell throws around....absolutely no consistency.

In 2006 the Jets get caught taping the Pats from a non-approved location and get fined.....Nothing
In 2007 the Patriots get caught taping the Jets from a non-approved location and get fined...$500,000 for the Team, $250,000 for the Coach, and the loss of First Round Pick

In 2014 the Carolina panthers got caught, on film, heating footballs during the game and got fined.....Nothing
In 2012 the San Diego chargers got caught hiding stickum in towels, and refused to give the towels to the refs, and they were fined.......$20,000
In 2015 the Patriots get accused of deflating footballs, a $10,000,000 investigation ensues, which determines that something might have happened and the Patriots get fined......$1,000,000 to the Team, loss of 2 draft picks, and a 4 game suspension for their Quarter Back

and for those saying that Brady is getting fined for not giving up his personal phone....
In 2010 Brett Favre is accused of Sexually Harassing another Jets employee by Sending pictures of his #^&#^&#^&#^& to her, he refuses to give up his phone and he is fined......$50,000
In 2015 Tom Brady is accused of having the footballs deflated a friggin pound, he refuses to Give up his phone and he is fined.....a 4 game suspension which amounts to $1,750,000

Goodell's Integrity is a friggin joke

Rockport24 07-29-2015 02:01 PM

great points!

well, most legal experts are saying that the NFL doesn't really have a leg to stand on in federal court on this, so it seems that Tom will end up playing the entire season anyway.

Raven 07-29-2015 02:30 PM

well spoken tdf

A close lawyer friend in DC said Brady will get off, the NFL does not have anything that will stick to the wall.
Ps, He is a Redskin fan.

And so now that the NFL's case against #12 is completely falling apart, when will all the haters start the migration?

Sea Dangles 08-09-2015 05:09 PM

After reading the majority of the transcript I admit to having a new outlook. I am still wondering what type of motivation Goodell has to let it get to this point. I am leaning towards the Spence/ Incognito camp and wondering how a company that size can do business in this manner.

goodell is basking in the sunshine of all the haters and losers. his hatred for bb extends to tb. love to see the keystone cops sting op exposed.

Slipknot 08-09-2015 07:40 PM

If you think about it Chris, considering he screwed up on the Rice thing and listened to public opinion about the outrage then over punished, he also let things hang out there in this case to see which way the wind blows and listened as the media covered all across the country how the haters wanted Brady's head on a platter, so seeing how he could not find guilt from Bill, he completely reamed the team and whacked Brady hard. He let it fester so much there was no going back. I think they had no clue about how the weather can effect ball pressure so they already had their minds made up when Kensil told the Patriot guy you're in big f ing trouble. The investigation was a witch hunt and now Roger is contradicting and continues to make s h it up as he goes along changes things to suit his agenda to make himself look good but smart people should see thru this, the other owners go along with it but if this happens to them, and it will eventually, they will sing another tune like Kraft now does.

one thing led to another

I am still convinced that when Brady looked guilty at the early press conference, he was just given reports of 11 of 12 balls under 2 pounds low, and had no idea how that could be and did not know how that happened or had no explanation so everyone thought/assumed he did something.

I find it very hard to believe he would ever condone tampering with balls after the officials approve them, it never happened and never would.

Goodell needs to be replaced by someone capable, he has shown he is not capable.

nightfighter 08-12-2015 04:58 PM

Judge to NFL; "where is the evidence?" Questioned the independence of the Wells report. Pointed remarks made to Brady's team too.

Brady camp does not appear to be willing to make ANY deal.

But this thing is continued until the 19th????? What a waste of resources given the coverage......

Sea Dangles 08-12-2015 05:09 PM

The lack of evidence is what may eliminate the suspension. Innocent until PROVEN guilty is what will save Toms butt most likely.

Save his butt or pull the veil
Off of the NFL's BS case on what was truly a non issue fabricated by butt hurt Former jets employees? And ego hurt HC of the Ravens.

As the truth comes out via a truly independent arbitrator the NFL is looking ridiculous

I think it was more of an 'eff you courtesy of your union lawyers. If they believed there was no evidence of any wrong doing they're not destroying any evidence and I'm sure there would be PLENTY of embarrassing personal stuff for the League to selectively leak.

DZ 08-13-2015 08:03 AM

It was good to see Judge Berman completely discounted any texts that did not revolve around the "game in question". I think the NFLs case was that deflating footballs was an ongoing conspiracy by Brady in previous games. They can't use that argument anymore. I'm still thinking a monetary fine is the compromise in exchange for complete NFL statement of exoneration for Brady. Both sides get "something" and everyone should be happy.

The NFL has shown such discretion in regards to this matter. I can't imagine him not trusting them with personal info. (Sarcasm for those that are slow waking up this morning)

If they exonerate Brady then there should be zero fine.....you can't fine somebody who has been found not guilty.

and they got there pound of flesh in the form of a $1,000,000 fine and 2 draft picks from the Pats Organization.

Goodell could have avoided this whole friggin fiasco if he put his ego aside and just hit the Pats with a small fine in the beginning.....say.....$25,000 like its supposed to be.

MAKAI 08-14-2015 07:14 AM

I would guess this now has more to do with collective bargaining arbitration process than PSI.
May set a precedent for other labor unions CBA'S down the road.

no but I have heard that is is well known around the league that the Pats have been getting away with lots of stuff for years. rumors equal perception right? then perception is reality, I see how it works

After more than seven months, several millions of dollars and big talking from the league and commissioner Roger Goodell in the deflate-gate controversy, the first time someone independent looked at the case against Tom Brady it was thrown out.

MAKAI 09-03-2015 01:53 PM

What a colossal waste of court time.

I never had any doubt
the NFL has no clue how to police their league
