FYI Paulie ,, that,s why I told you to [NOT} pull the boat this early >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Fish have been on the beach ,,almost everyday ...small bass & huge blues ,in the bay ,,,,But what do I know ,,,,,,,your the angler of the year <><>:wavey:
PS don,t tell me youv,e been in since April .all you did was ride around for 5 - 6 weeks :wid: |
Got the 10/29 thru the 11/4 off.
Might try the canal for a day tide, since I usually fish at night. Of course I will also be planning a few freshwater kayak trips too! |
Watching two dozen gannets dive bombing right this very minute. CCB. there's at least one game fish under them.

The question is "what kind of fish is it"?
|
saw my 1st gannet the other day down here in CT too....
|
Same area where there was much activity ~40 hours ago seemed like a dead zone this morning. No bait, no birds, no 'game fish' seen despite lots of nice looking water and the wind in your face.

Did a lot of walking on Cutty last nite for a few schoolies. going 35 mph in an open boat thru the middle of the night this late in the season did bring thoughts of the season winding down.

Depends on where you are southern new england is still experiencing good fishing for quality fish . I believe around here there is at least a full month or more left it's just a matter of wanting to go out and freeze my but off to catch them.

Looks like they are in CT and NY now.
I spent most of the day at state beach in Westerly yesterday. Nada. Except for the occasional skate. :faga: Still a beautiful day though. I did see one seal there. Just one. |
seals .saw then in the upper bay & right at the boat ramp in Gailee :nailem:
|
I hate to say it but up on the No. Shore in Mass I think it's over, we have one more weekend to drive on so I'm going fishing, but it just about broke my heart to dump $25.00 of sea worms into the surf

We are due for a November sea herring run. They seem to come in close every 5 years or so and provide fantastic November fishing, but does not look like this will be the year. Lost my largest bass ever on Thanksgiving eve in SoCo. Not quitting til Dec 1 or so. |
It's not over... they didn't leave... the water is still too warm and there is plenty of bait. Were just experiencing a commercial break... the show will be back on in a minute. Fish hard til december 1st at least.

Well for me it's over.
Last night with perfect conditions, not a single fish or bite or any of the guys fishing the canal last night. Once I saw the seal cruising the east end I called it a night...and a season. Returned to the freshwater and will be prepping for the ice season to come. |
Big fish this morning for one guy. I was at work. Still some around for the stubborn.
