Had the same issue with a 2015 Sierra Denali pickup a couple years ago and had to replace the gasket which was easy; and had another leak under the antenna module on the roof over the driver side. It throws all kinds of radio errors on a scanner. Now, torque converter issues. Traded it in today for a 2020 Navigator (because I never got my 12 ft Hobie Pro in the water this past season). Lifestyle changes :).
Can't live with them, can't live without them...

Picked it up last night. This is my 3rd Ram 1500. And to date very happy with all of them. Except this one. 1st one with a major issue .

Ray what does Andy sell. I am going to looking soon. This lease is about up.. but bang for the buck. It’s going to be hard to go Chevy or GM or even Toyota .. won’t do a ford just hate their look inside and out.

Been following this with interest. Glad it worked out for u.
Go see Andy for GMC
But still get ready to puke at cost of trucks these days. It is getting insane. My BIL just bought a new Yukon. 91k!!!!

I opted to put an engine in my '02 Silverado 2500 that I got 323000 miles out of the engine that Blew 2 cylinders last year. Picked it up today. My 3rd GM that got over 300k out of with minimal problems. Hemmed and hawed about doing it as it sat as a lawn ornament for the past year. Lucked into / worked it out got engine with 128k for free. 1200 to put it in. Most said worth it. My frame Solid and everything else good as I had just personally done a ton of work to before engine blew. Yes typical GM body rot but I don't care what it looks like. Just long term dependability and never had a car payment.
I had scoured for a GM and most I looked at in my 20k budget range were just as rusted or worse and need what I had just done
And who knows how solid drivetrains were/ beat on.

I have still been hearing about issues with the newer ('18 and up) GMs. 1 buddy got a '19 frame is rotted out. Buddy this summer bought a '20 from Marty's this summer with 60k on it that tranny blew 2000 miles into that he got jerked around on warranty replacement. When I picked up my truck today guy had a'20 with low miles on the lift that was horrifying under neath. Mechanic was telling me about a lot of the issues he been seeing with them and that's why even he had recommended a year ago to put an engine in mine. At least I know what I have.
My neighbors low mile '19 ford has been sitting there cause just like the explorers water pump issues. Get ready to sell a body part for that repair cost when they go as they seem to be an ongoing issue. Fords seem to have nicer bells and whistles/ ride more car like than the gms tho

Trucks these days are becoming more and more car like with all their gadgets and electronic gizmos and gremlins. Most will never have anything besides groceries put in the bed. My bosses 2 yr old GMC AT4 has HUD display which I fell in love with tho.
So all seem to have their different issues a lot on how long plan to have.
So roll the dice and pick your poison

Mike, I am at 251,000 on an 03. Done about everything to the truck except engine. Still getting 17 mpg. New Y pipe, Cats, brakes, lines, wheel bearings, all the front end stuff. Rocker panels are gone and the frame is starting to rot out bu I'll drive it around town till it won't inspect.

I can’t nor would I buy a 90k truck. Even if I could. Rams new thing is same body but V6 engine which doesn’t get very good gas mileage over the V8. If I didn’t tow the boat maybe

But then again I’ve seen people towing monsters with a Tacoma

I would consider a Tacoma if I didn’t feel like I was sitting on the floor

God I'm happy to have my truck back and be up in the clouds again but not looking forward to goin back to 10 mpg
The money I have saved in gas has been staggering

Transmission and diff went in my 15’ Sierra at 169,000k dumped it and grabbed a tundra with the v6 twin turbo and won’t look back. Good luck finding a Tacoma without having to out a down payment and waiting several months. The price point for the tundra sold me left over 23’ trd sr5. And the gas mileage I get towing my 17’ cc is unreal

Saw those v6 twin turbo models was a bit skeptical . Might have to take a look. Not a big fan of their look…. And do you still need a grabber to get stuff out of the bed.
