VB, I remember when you could walk into Red Top and they had litterally buckets of Sandee's for sale in the old tackle specials bins. Nice stuff. That leather thing is way cool. Never saw one before.:D

Thanks Vineyardblues - some really neat stuff. Thought Norris made the first needle on the Cape maybe not. Sent you a pm for some additional info.

Don't laugh to hard at the bic needle...I bet it would out fish a lot of lures.

Pete F. 12-11-2004 04:59 PM

How would you put a center hook on it? I can think of a spot where a clear one would be a killer.

capesams 12-11-2004 05:09 PM

Steelhead.......leave the head on the pen....just behind where the head meets the body put a black eye on[marker] then drill two holes close to the center,,,one for the belly hook and the other for a drop of lead...drill through the lead so your wire will pass through that lead and keep it in place,,no need to poxy the lead hole;)

steelhead 12-11-2004 06:10 PM

Hey CS, I was wondering about the belly hook as I was putting it together. Thanks for the how to and where :-) This one started out with the point, but it broke as I was wrapping the wirter at the rear. Next one. Going to have sneak a few more from the wife's pocket book.

Should the lead go behind the belly hook so it rides a bit nose up?

capesams 12-11-2004 07:16 PM

:D

steelhead 12-11-2004 07:50 PM

Found an old clear one. Not one of those new cheap ones....
Maybe I'll color it with transparent magic marker.
