I had the pleasure of fishing with G.O.S. a couple of times...A CLASS "A" guy in my book. Very fun to be around...I'm sure he'll be missed. My condolences BM.

Our condolences and prayers for you, Dave. Your brother and you brought a lot of fun and style to the boards...and a lot a helpful info for the "regular joes" , like me, who don't get out that much and need a little help here and there. GOS's home page reflects that. Like you do when you drop us a little hint here and there. God Bless.

I am very sorry to hear it.He was a very colorful charachter who always had great info to share ,wether it was technical stuff on reels to just downright humorous make u laught til it hurts comedy. I used to wonder out loud, how does this guy come up with this stuff?? He will truly be missed.

VASSALBORO -- Lars S. Hawk, formerly known as Saverio A. Manzi, of Cross Hill Road, died unexpectedly Friday, July 29, 2005, at his home. He was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Jan. 23, 1960, a son of Saverio and Patricia Manzi. Mr. Hawk enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed chatting with his online friends from the following Web sites: stripersonline.com, ProBass.com, flyinglead.com, Maineflyfishing.com and Dougsmessageboard.com, to name a few. Mr. Hawk is survived by his longtime and loving significant other, Loretta Hanley of Vassalboro; a daughter, Rachel M. Manzi of Massachusetts; a brother, David Manzi of Massachusetts; and his best friend, Billy Grotton of Augusta. There will be no public visiting hours or funeral service.
