We still need to hear from Tattoo? JHABS? Sandman? Clamdigger? Crafty? Saltydog in June? BM? quint? FISH EYE?
How many would like to fish live eels? I can get them for all and bring them over just need to know how many we think we need? I am thinking of getting a cart while there and only fishing from the boat part of the time that way I could run around and see that every one was set for bait and food all night? Can every one bring a cell phone or hook up with some one else that has one that way we can all be in touch?

nightfighter 04-25-2002 03:37 PM

I should put my hand in for a half dozen eels. Only fished with them once, and will be lookin' to the massas for some guidance!

Besides, I'd probably kill them by the time I get down from Marblehead!

How many days left????

Ross

GBOUTDOORS 04-25-2002 08:30 PM

Ok night you got um. Have not done eels myself but will give it a good try this year.

TheSpecialist 04-26-2002 03:16 PM

Don't you guys worry there are some real eel masters here. I learned alot last year from Saltheart, Smokey, Chris L, and John. There are others that have the talent also.

GBOUTDOORS 04-27-2002 06:17 AM

Fish_Eye 04-27-2002 06:31 AM

Actually, a few of my friends are planning a boat-based tourney that weekend...you just might see http://fisheye.striped-bass.com/imag.../diverflag.gif me there!

GBOUTDOORS 05-05-2002 07:32 PM

Hi guys sorry but I was real busy this past week Bloo the stuffies sound great to me but I see that Anthonyn is bringing some so mayby the stew would be good? That way we can get Fish Eye to show;) mar t sorry but do to the number of people that wanted to go I had to limit the number and there are a few that have asked to go if anyone drops out but if enought can't go I will keep you on the list.:( TODAY IS MAY FIFTH and just over a month to go:happy:

JohnR 05-06-2002 07:21 AM

Right you are GB - my favorite Brotha from a different Motha ( OK - that was pretty bad )... Just over one month from now! I remember when this first came up I wondered if it every would arrive :D ...

I think I'll add some of my wife's dishes to the food list (I don't think she'd mind) but she makes a Kick Butt Shepards Pie so I may bring one regular and one Teradactyl, I mean Teriaki :btu:
Plus I'll even cook up some bagels and some fruit ;) ....

Can't wait...

GBOUTDOORS 05-06-2002 07:19 PM

John the Shepards pie sounds great it is one of my favorites but I have never tried the KICK BUTT brand:p I met up with Scotch B tonight in Westport. He picked up my old GPS for his boat and we watched two boats pick up a few keepers on herring in front of the landing. Should have brought the boat:smash: :smash: :smash: Are there any runs that will still have herring in them come June 14th. I would like to take some live over to the island if possable along with the eels???

nor-easter 05-06-2002 07:36 PM

GB Those Herring will not work over there!

We tried for years but it has something to do with the salienity of the water,
the color of the sand,
the lack of a local Herring run to get them thinking Herring,
the depth of the water,
the way the current runs;
all these things are against the Bass liking Herring over there!

Eels don't work very well either but do catch 'a few' fish with eels.

Big "Hunk" Bass like wood, big wood and deer tails, plenty deer tails.

Sometimes Silver lead Kast from shore works

BUT NEVER HERRING....NEVER WORKS......;)

How are you all going over? Private Boats? Airplane? BM Navy?:D

Slipknot 05-06-2002 07:55 PM

"How are you all going over? Private Boats? Airplane? BM Navy?"

I thought you were taking us all over Chet???? ;)

big wood huh? hmmmmm

GBOUTDOORS 05-07-2002 06:45 AM

Chet I will be going over on my boat and I think GS maybe taking his over? But for the most part everyone will be going over on the Cuttyhunk boat on Sat. unless you are offering a ride over for some fellow S-B members:eek: The boat leaves N.B. at 9:00 on Sat. and gets to the Hunk at around 10:00. We will have a cook out at say 11:00 to 12:00 and then let the fishing begin. I will post how to get to the boat soon and were to park. The cost oneway is $12.50 and you get your ticket at the dock just before the boat leaves. I have allready orderd 7dz eels for the weekend and will bring them over with me. Mar T I had already asked my local shop to get the eels for me but thank you very much for the offer to get them for us, maybe next time??:)

Tattoo 05-07-2002 06:48 AM

What were the dates of this adventure again? Sorry but my mind has been in the gutter......

GBOUTDOORS 05-07-2002 07:05 AM

Tattoo its Sat the 15th to Sun the 16th an all night fishing derby remember:smash: :smash: Somewere off the coast of Mass.

JohnR 05-07-2002 07:45 AM

Big wood, huh? I get, well, I'm not going to go there :hs: :hee: :humpty:

"BM Navy" WTH is that? ;)

GB - are you shore fishing or boat fishing while over there? Reason is that I've screwed up my remaining good knee and won't know for a few days if I'm getting scoped or not. I'm still going even if it means I have to dunk a work off a pier - my butt is THERE!
