Why don't you sell the licenses and use the money for spelling lessons. Then you can get a job that pays more than fishing.:rollem: |
Listen the guy just asked a question.I simple reply would have been suffice.Mikey an I did try but I think by then the whole internet full of bandalero slinging cowboys had rounded up the posse' an where tar an featherin pour old Duke.Seems he's just cirlclin the wagons at this point. He has a opinion he is welcomed to it.He is under the impression Mikey keeps alot of fish.He is concerned about the fishery.Thats not really a bad thing.Lets not be baby's about this if u have something to say Make believe he is standin in front of u before u mouth off. Lets show a little respect.I let a several hundreds of fish go every year.I also keep several hundred lbs of fish.It is my right.I do my part for conservation I go to the meetings an let my voice be heard. But I like to eat fish had some for dinner last night.an I still have'nt wet a line yet this yr.The dent a recreational puts in the fisherey when u consider how many target stripers is a small drop in the bucket of what a big net picks up daily.

Duke; was it you that chartered for a while? If so, if a charter wanted his LEGAL limit of bass or other fish, he couldnt take them???? I kill ~10 bass a year and eat them, rarely a limit of 2 but usually 1 every couple of weeks during the season and generally over 36".. I also keep a few limits (8fish) of Fluke , along with some sea bass and blackfish and tuna.. why? I eat fish 2x a week, and if frozen propery it is a nice thing to have all winter. The only fish I buy is salmon.... I can't afford to buy fish all winter... outside my food budget.... maybe I should be a real estate developer.... Then again why the F am I justifying my self to you??? You are right though, we all have a personal choice to make, I chose to eat fish I catch... and it is what the law allows.... Want to change the rules? get involved with ASMFC or RIMFC , go to the meetings, know the numbers and make a good, valid argument and maybe things would change as you see fit; some of us are activly involved in the fisheries side of things as best we can be and based on the science available.... NIB; you are probably right, but since Mikey didnt put up pics saying he killed every fish he caught, and the fact that he gave the reason WHY he kept 3, Duke jumped on it where it wasn't needed/justified... |
I know, I'm strangely torn between the biological pull to stand up for my little brother and the fact that I usually want to put my fish back, unless they're fluke, cod, haddock, wolf or the occasional striper.
I just like stirrin the pot sometimes! Later, Rick |

Nice fish for this early Mikey! Dont worry about folks trying to bring out negative aspects. They're sad strange little people, and the devil has a special lil place in hell reserved for jealous people like them.
Duke, Jealously is a female trait by the way. :lm: |
Mikey,
Maybe you could send Duke a fish or two for his enjoyment. Is my spelling correct? :jester: |
WHAT"S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?
 Duke, if you wanted to try and enlighten some fishermen about conservation, you picked the wrong thread to hijack. Quote:
I guess maybe it's time this trainwreck moves along. |
I spaced it out nice and ate my last striper filet last night,DELICIOUS.Oh;Mikey kills lots of fish and booze.:nailem:
|
Nice fish! The last couple got me a litte anxious to splash in the Grady White.:D
I do not keep any striper anymore, but it is because when I worked the fishtraps at Sakonnet point I felt then that I had taken a lifetimes share, but that is a personal choice we are all entittled to, As long as he is obeying the law I say god has blessed him with the luck and skill to be able to catch and...and eat some beautiful Stripers. |
Hey Mark - you're not bored or anything, are ya? I just saw this thread but you look like you must be bored or something...
Your trolling this thread this way is why I'm asking... Guys, he's probably just venting some steam or maybe PETA turned him :buds: |
That is very encouraging to see those kind of fish down there this early. Nice work man!
with the amount of time and money we spend on fishing, we BETTER take some fish home for the table. |
Oh-Oh got caught by the boss. Got to admit it was fun getting everyone all worked up. To kill or not kill, it up to you. I will now go back to my cave, smirking of course.
