You guys would hate me if I posted :D
Jim, that far away?
I thought you were closer than that?

reelecstasy 06-22-2007 01:10 PM

25 feet to the spot I fish everyday, & also put in my kayak
15 mins to 2 local favorite spots...
40 mins to cape

fishbones 06-22-2007 01:29 PM

30 minutes minimum to be on fish, but most of my spots are further. Anything more than 10 minutes is too far in my opinion. More time travelling = less time fishing.

Rockport24 06-22-2007 02:05 PM

I'm 10 minutes away from some good spots

Back Beach 06-22-2007 02:07 PM

Canal=52 miles
Gansett= 54 miles
Westport= 48 miles
%$%$%$%$ the cape

I am centrally located between my fishing grounds, but far away.

steve 06-22-2007 02:09 PM

distance to the surf

I'm lucky, 15 to 50 minutes depending on the spot.

partsjay 06-22-2007 02:17 PM

10 min to the canal.....15 to some other spots.

ThomCat 06-22-2007 02:20 PM

 35 miles from the house to my slip.

JLH 06-22-2007 02:45 PM

~80 miles one way so about an hour and a half. I’m lucky enough to have family near the shore so at least I can stay the weekend or overnight the majority of the time.

FishWebb 06-22-2007 03:37 PM

5 minutes.
:wiggle:

shadow 06-22-2007 05:38 PM

30-35 min. if fishing ganset 20 min charlestown or westerly.

Slingah 06-22-2007 05:48 PM

EricM 06-22-2007 05:53 PM

3,988 miles and every single one of them hurts

ProfessorM 06-22-2007 07:51 PM

BW from AZ 06-22-2007 11:17 PM

2,714 miles door to boat. last time out, 6 straight days of cold wind and rain. skunked to boot. gotta learn to plan better trips.

Thom 06-23-2007 02:10 PM

justplugit 06-23-2007 04:01 PM

InTheHole 06-23-2007 05:29 PM

93 miles door to dock,+20 to where i really like to fish

Clueless 06-23-2007 06:01 PM

Nearest favorite spot, 45-50 minutes. But I can have a line in saltwater in 20.

macojoe 06-23-2007 06:13 PM

All depends were I am going?

3 miles Yarmouth,
20 miles to Falmouth,
16 miles to Chatam,
10 miles to Barnstable Harborer

Fish out of Falmouth 80% of the time, of coarse it has to be the longest away also!!

5/0 06-23-2007 06:47 PM

42.7 Miles to the canal & 1/4 mile to walk, waking up & getting into the water 1hr.

5/0

massmike 06-23-2007 07:48 PM

two hours from Canal--two hours to East Beach, R.I.--Western Mass. isn't the most convenient place to live if you love the Cape like I do. The older I get, the fewer day trips to Balston, Head of the Meadow, Coast Gaurd and Nauset etc. I make. When I tell my neighbors I make danny plugs all winter they don't have a clue what the hell I'm talking about....

spence 06-23-2007 08:08 PM

Walking distance to a few...

10-25 to a lot more.

45 will get me to Beavertail or the Canal.

An hour+ to Watch Hill.

It's pretty pathetic considering how much I actually get to fish.

fishaholic18 06-23-2007 08:20 PM

5 minutes if I stop by Clammers house 1st.:biglaugh:

striperman36 06-23-2007 08:51 PM

47 mi to the #1 ramp

massmike 06-24-2007 07:28 AM

2 hours from canal---two hours from R.I. beaches--5 minutes from Ct. River in western Mass.---too bad shad/herring run is done--caught some decent fish this spring to 36 lbs. in the river, but I'd rather be at Balston, Head of the Meadow etc...love the Cape

Al in Westport 06-24-2007 08:15 AM

I'm a lucky boy...a little over a mile to the ramp then 5 to 15 minutes to "my" spots. :spin:

riverrat55 06-24-2007 08:19 AM

15 minutes to surf fishing!!!
10 minutes to the boat and 5 more to my fishing spots!!!

Duke41 06-24-2007 08:54 AM

Now as we can see, some of us live very close to the water, while the other half live a great distance away. I would now ask the folks that live close to the water to find jobs for us that have to travel.

stars'nstripers 06-24-2007 08:51 PM

15 seconds to surf casting. 12 to my boat. (and this is by bike!!!,)

Bazza 06-25-2007 07:15 AM

1Hr. and 20 minutes to the Canal
Outer Cape 2hrs
North shore 45-1hr.
RI 1 1/2hrs.

I just got a kayak, so hopefully, alot less driving this year.

Notaro 06-25-2007 07:28 AM

45 mins to 1.5 hour to cape cod. 10-20 mins to boston harbor. 2 hours to RI.

Squibby17 06-25-2007 11:42 AM

Right now any where from 20 minutes to 1 hr. However I'm moving to Gloucester in a month where I will only have to walk to the back of the yard!!!
