I don't keep track. Some weeks it's 4 or 5 nights then I can go two weeks with only a couple times. Depends on conditions, time of year and my available free time.
My "season" varies and changes seemlessly from saltwater to freshwater then saltwater again. Take for example this past week, Monday night I went bass fishing, Wednesday night I went again with a friend and we did well but all small fish (tide was ginormous though), Friday morning went schoolie fishing in a howler n/west wind at daybreak then we left there and spent the rest of the day downcape trout fishing. Saturday was able to get up to see the new BP Shop in Foxboro, Yesterday went back to the outer cpae and fished several trout ponds with another friend. This week I hope to get out a night or two as there are still a lot of bass to be had though small I just match the gear and I plan to trout fish Saturday and Sunday. Living on Cape my season really never ends, if the water gets stiff then we walk out on it and chop holes through it until it melts and the waders go back on and the viscious cycle starts anew. |

It's actually kind of embarrasing for me...I went to Cutty twice this year (nothing), the Cape many times, Thames, CT river for the May run, and my North Shore haunts like a combined 50 trips this year.
I caught lots of fish, but only two were what I would call memorable. For me, though, I really don't care about catching big fish, hell, I don't even care about catching anything...I just like being out there. Now, on the other hand, I just quit my job as GM of a casual dining steakhouse, and going to start working in Eastie as a software support rep, where I can walk outside and fish whenever I want........:hidin: Yeah, I've been hiding behind that couch for WAAAAAAYYYYY too long. Talk to me next year. Later, Rick |
A Ton!!!
Didn't really keep a log but May and June were almost every night/early morning. Slowed down after July 15 when the big girls left the Bay. picked back up in late August for Blues and then long runs down the Bay for bass. All together over 100 trips. |
Not enough trips... Life's responsibilities do take priority - they also make it hard to "select" the right condition nights to fish so I find myself fishing more "less favorable" nights just to be able to get out and fish.
