You're right Mike & cronies: a 60+ from a boat on bait at night behind Block is right there with a 67 from shore there on Wood (or TWO 50's on plastic from there... or a 57 on Wood from the Cape in '05)... etc! :btu:

I was totally off- base to suggest otherwise! I apologize for my uninformed opinion! :wid:

Sorry all! Back to your congrats thread! :hidin:

nice couch :hee:

Damn nice fish in my opinion. Congrats.

I'd be bragging about this fish even if I found it washed up dead on the beach in the hot July sun!:laugha:

Great fish, boat or sand, period. I hope I get one someday!

:claps::claps::claps: Great catch there

Gunpowder, congratulate your friend Mark for me :btu:
that is a large bass and certainly a trophy , as long as it's not dragged up in a net and it's caught on a rod and reel from shore or boat ,on bait or artifitial, that is impressive in my book.

I think this thread is not about sarcasm , it's about a trophy fish.

Was it an accomplishment when your "idols" were catching trophies in the Snowstorm Bilitz? Any dolt with a rod and lure could have caught them too if they were there. Kind of like shooting fish in a barrel, no?

Let's make this even more polarizing - he caught it with a Van Staal :rotflmao:

Seriously, I think we are over analyzing this. We are not talking about a situation where some person that had never casted to bass before lands a 60 at their feet by sheer luck. We are talking about someone that used a proven method from a proven platform that was lucky enough to have this fish before him and skilled enough to do something about it.

Circumstances are what are put in front of you and what you do with them plus some lady luck.

Oooops - work beckons...

JohnR,

I agree. Well worded.

That is an awesome fish.

I would love to catch something like that from the kayak. Actually right now, ANYthing next to the kayak would be good. I lost my mojo when I moved to Mass.
