funny how alot of you are stating that its nobody's business but her and her family's and why are the Dems bringing this out and the liberal media yada yada yada
I thought the same thing about a certain president getting a hummer from a certain intern....didn't think it was anybody's business but his and his wife's....but that got slung across the news for weeks on end. This is the reason you will NEVER have a good presidential candidate again...no one with any common sense would put themselves and their families through this |

Jesus, have some personal responsibility. |
This sadly cracks me up.
As I sit on the fence that runs between Dems and 'Pubs I see vast seas of people on both sides launching arrows, mooning each other, spit balls and reading talking points from the Scritpers on both sides. I realize a few things: I love America I wish we would grow the bleep up. OK, 'nuff said, back to our regularly scheduled program; "Is Palin's unborn grandchild really a surrogate son? Tune into CNN at 9 for the latest. Afterward, Larry King interviews the Personal Trainer for the Uncle of the next President (pending elections), Barry Obama with leaking news that VP candidate of the loosing party (pending elections) Sarah Palin is actually a cousin to President (pending elections), Barry Obama, several generations removed..." FOX News will be next |

personally I think that it has nothing to do with Liberals vesus Wingers....its just one group of childish a-holes trying to make another group of childish a-holes look bad. They're like a bunch of Prep-school cheerleaders. They ALL play the same crap and its pretty friggin disheartening. ....and a risk to national security, give me a break, what, was there microfilm hidden in that cigar. |
Is this the best our country can do, on both sides... its depressing

I think Obama handled it the right way. The media pounced, on both sides, and it wasn't right.
What it does raise, is any middle of the road people with mixed feelings or no opinion on abortion, is that if McCain/Palin is elected and appoint the judges they want, then another parent or child in the same situation as Palin's daughter will have less options down the road. I'm not for abortion as birth control, but the choice and option should be there. Not every 17y/o is ready for kids and marriage! |
Quote:
How is this an ethical issue? Who lied about it? How do you know what her parents preached? The daughter is old enough for the age of consent, made her decision and now has to live with it. What I preach is ACCOUNTABILITY, don't make me pay for the support of that child. So it looks like we have a woman with a bunch of kids, one on the way to Iraq, one with Down Syndrome, one pregnant. Sounds like you cant find someone more in touch with America than that! |

Of course, Bristol Palin is not the first vice-presidential child to be pregnant out of wedlock. That honor goes to Mary Cheney. (Perhaps this is something the GOP vetting committee looks for?)
But at least Bristol is allowed to get married!! |
Actually from a strategy perspective, looks like this may have been a brillinat choice by McCain
ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) -- Key evangelical leaders rallied to Sarah Palin's support Monday amid news that her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, was having a child. Sarah Palin confirmed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. "Before, they were excited about her, with the Down syndrome baby," conservative, anti-tax activist Grover Norquist said. "But now with this, they are over the moon. It reinforces the fact that this family lives its pro-life values." |

Worked great for her family! |
Those evangelicals all come from that uptight town in Footloose.
|
This would be a non issue with most liberals. They would have aborted this baby long ago.
|
um... no.

They would have the baby, blame society for their problem, go on welfare and then have more children with different fathers. |

What I love is that the comparisons are being made between her as VP, and Obama as President. I heard an analogy that made me laugh, regarding this type of comapring and debating: "I'll let you sprain my 2nd string quarterback's throwing are if I can do the same to your starting quarterback." As for her being the breadwinner, I believe she and her husband started their own fishing business before she went into politics. We don't need to rehash the "experience" angle any further, do we? |

I just read this - "Palin Supported Penalties for Using Skateboards on Public or Private Property in Wasilla." Ouch, that will piss off abut 45% of Obama's supporters :laugha::laugha::laugha: |

True. Welfare recipients are largely apolitical as a voting block, though they characterize themselves as democrats - they tend not to show up on election day.
The "Liberal Elite" and the "East Coast Establishment" are not on welfare - they have education, jobs and their fingers on the buttons of most of our institutions - otherwise they would not be elite or part of the establishment. Not all democrats are liberals. Just like not all conservatives are evangelicals. |

That's just a little needling. Jim Jones got over 900 people to commit suicide in Jonestown approx 30 years ago. His followers believed him to be a prophet or messiah. I see some of Obama's followers thinking like Jones "flock". |
