19" flat screen tv for the bedroom and Ugg boots to keep my bad foot nice and warm! BTW, if you haven't tried these things on, please do so. They are the Van Staal of boots!

Swimmer 12-26-2008 10:57 AM

We got ourselves a new HP computor. Also a new puppie. It is now a 20 # golden that my wife calls Bella and I call hooligan. I forgot what it was like to have a puppie with a "tude" around the house.

Then I vivsited Mom who has had some health problems, we made her day. Then I went to see my brother SKD and watched him suffer on the couch with out for awhile. He'll survive though. It was a great day.

I can relate to that. You can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. Wife gave our family a cruise to the Caribbean in March.

My favorite gift was a Keurig coffee-maker - damn, it makes a great cup of coffee individually...just fired it up with some pretty robust Newman's Own...

Gotta have good starter fluid to get me going in the morning...:uhuh:

2...I got continue my personal tradition to give some time to serve others at an event where people struggling to overcome substance abuse can gather to be "safe" for the holiday.A copy of The Striped Bass Chronicles
3...Some of those nice big and warm Remmington socks for under the Waders
4...A new Travel Mug with BasicPatrick engraved on it

Joe 12-26-2008 04:31 PM

Do they provide an expense stipend for the Traveling Surfcaster column? I always found that writing anything that required travel was a losing proposition.

Chit, I just looked at her site..... nice stuff. And its copper! Thought it was bronze mold.

I was going to say that it was copper with a patina fnnish.. that was made by hammering a sheet of copper into a wooden form that is the rough shape of the bass, then all of the details are hammered in with different shaped tools... Its called 'chasing' Nice specimen :heybaby:

Hey West end, had to read that twice, thought it said a nice bluefish.

freebie 12-27-2008 11:50 AM

got a nice Redsox sweatshirt from Katie, her mom got us a Wii, got a $50 Bass Pro gift card, $100 in Long Horn Steakhouse gift cards and lots of cash for skiing from my family

fumifish 12-27-2008 04:19 PM

grs pikes! they are so sweet.
slippers
new north face jacket.
aerogarden. i do enjoy planting/growing vegetables but this might be a bit much.. we will see

good2hook 12-27-2008 04:55 PM

we don't exchange big gifts, just big stockings
we focus mostly on the kids.
But i did get a kayak, it was a birthday/slash christmas gift. (i guess turning 40 is a big to do)
got a sweet Red Sox jacket
100.00 bass pro certificate
red sox hat and glove set. not mittens
khakis for work, socks..
another year of OTW magazine.

but that pales in comparison to see the joy on my 5 yr. olds face.
That was my best gift.
Genuine happiness and gratefulness for every gift he received..
and he made out like a bandit...

My wife did pretty well too, after all she married me.

rickhern 12-27-2008 05:26 PM

Nice George. My son's response to seeing Santa's gifts was "Holy Crap!!". Too funny, couldn't even yell at him.
