a win is a win. especially when it neutralises a home court advantage.
c's in 6. beat l.a.

Should be interesting tonight. The last game I think the Celtics caught them flat footed. The Celts come off a very intense level of play with Cleveland while Orlando had an easy series. I think the Celts were way jacked up in the level playoff level of play while Orlando was just playing normal. I think tonight Orlando will be jacked up too and it should be a good game.

To me Howard needs different coaching or to play with and be mentored by some older centers. He's physically talented but he just doesn'y know how to use his size and strength well.

I agree the Celtics bench is huge. They allow KG to rest often and yet not fall too far behind in the scoring. Then he comes out fresh and drives in the coffin nails.

Rondo is still the wildcard. He's capable of ripping the game wide open if he plays smart. This should be a great game to watch tonight!

How is Rondo a wild card? He's the most consistent player on the team? I think you're stuck in 2008.

Orlando needs to get rid of those noisemakers. I'd be so embarressed by that if I lived in Orlando. At least they're not quite as obnoxious as a thunderstick.

luds 05-18-2010 09:47 PM

I stand corrected. Plenty of thundersticks in the crowd. :smash:

Dad 818 05-18-2010 10:49 PM

Couldn't have scripted this any better.

Van 05-19-2010 07:09 AM

SHWEEEEEEEETTTTTT....

A veteren team makes those free throws (Pierce).

Vince Carter must still be crying.

Good game all around though ;lets see if they can punish them at home.

:drool::drool:

ProfessorM 05-19-2010 08:14 AM

Fell asleep before the end:smash:, was happy when I woke this morning. Just watched the highlights. Awesome effort. Rondo, the new Jr. Dr. J., Julius Errrrrrrrrrrrrving. Sorry for the Spectrum's D. Zinkoff quote, I am sure you fellow old people will remember. :) As far as sweep I'm not going there but sure beats being down 2 games.

MarshCappa 05-19-2010 09:01 AM

Something about this team seems special again. How about this little tidbit.....This is the first time in the history of the franchise that they have gone on the road and won the first two games in the playoffs!

If the league is going to go all "panty-waist" on Ainge for tossing a towel in the air, maybe they an grow a pair and address the noisemakers as well.
Let the damm guys play. If you can't take the pressure of the NBA, stick to the streetball or gym games and leave the pros to the PROS!

Remember the twit years back seated behind home plate at the games that would twirl her arms when the pitcher threw the ball?

Let them play the game.

Saltheart 05-20-2010 03:40 PM

I still think Rondo is a wild card. One night 30 , the next 17 , he plays great then all of a sudden he does something really stupid. He's way better than he was in 2008 of course but i think he will get even better in the next wto years and more predictable as far as game to game performances.

I think Davis and Perkins are doing a great job. so are Tony Allen and Wallace. The good bench allows the big stars to sit for a while and to go in and out as fouls start adding up. this ensures they will be on the floor for the last 3 to 5 minutes when anything can happen.

Overall , I think the Celtics just own the magic and hope they sweep in 4 and get some rest before LA.

I agree that his scoring is a bit of a wild card but they don't count on that. He gives a solid performance seemingly every night. The great ones contribute in anyway their teams them to. To me Rondo is already does that.

slow eddie 05-21-2010 03:17 PM

rondo just plain scares them with his speed. a one man fast break. he appears to totally in charge on the floor. directing traffic, etc.
same as the clevland series. they have the best player, boston has the next 4.

I really think he is there now. His stupid plays are pretty rare now and his spectacular plays are becoming the norm. I really can't find much to complain about with his performance nowadays. They nor any of the teams they have faced so far have no answer for him.:uhuh:

Saltheart 05-22-2010 11:45 AM

By wildcard I'm not saying Bad vs good. I'm saying good vs Spectacular. When he's Spectacular , nobody will beat the Celtics. When he's good , we need someone else to have a big night like one of the big 3.

So anyway , we all agree Rondo is really good. I'm just saying I see him becoming a superstar in a couple of years.

WTF..........HE'S ALWAYS SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. Not sure why I'm so commited to defending Rondo. I agree that he will need to be special if they are to top the Lakers. I don't think they need him so much against orlando. The bigs and Pierce are owning them so far.

Van 05-23-2010 08:35 AM

WOW......

What did Pierce say??

ANYONE GOT A BROOM ?

It's really good when a team gets better as the advance through the playoffs. Watch out LA

Saltheart 05-23-2010 12:48 PM

What slaughter last night! I'm glad they won but I want to see a game , not a slaughter. Plan the whole day to be able to watch them at night and then you end up channel surfaing the 4 th quarter while the scubs run out the minutes with a 30 point lead.

I hope they sweep and have some time to rest before LA. We got some oldies on our team and the rest really helps them.

ProfessorM 05-23-2010 01:40 PM

Allowed me to fall asleep early so I could get up at 4 today. friggin clinic out there last several games. This team's defense is making them look silly. Please don't let your foot off pedal.

Van 05-25-2010 07:11 AM

Look on a Milk Carton

I think Rondo was kidnapped, he sure was not at the game last night.
Hope he's alright, I heard some talk about an injury.

I have plans Wednesday night, I'll probably miss the game.:fury::fury:

They all looked tired by the end of the game and the OT.

JohnR 05-25-2010 07:13 AM

Missed opportunity at the end of regulation.

Rondo had two fouls early, Orlando showed up ready to play.

I think they ran outta gas...

Rondo had 9 points for the night !!!!!:wall:

Saltheart 05-25-2010 10:30 AM

Good game to watch. I thought we were going to take it at the end but Re#^&#^&#^&#^& killed us. The OT was really bad. Pierce looked like he was going to fall down.

Overall I thought Pierce and Davis played great. Pierce's success was obvious but I thought davis playedreally good D and got some tough rebounds when needed.Rondo and Garnet were no shows. Any help from them at all along with Pierces great game and we would have won.

I think Howard was mauling everyone. The refs will see that when they review the game and I wouldn't be surprised if he were in foul trouble early next game.

I think Wed is the end of the road for Orlando. I think we saw their best possible game last night and they still only got a tie in regulation.

Slipknot 05-25-2010 12:18 PM

I did not have a good feeling about the whole game but thought they had a chance atleast. Pierce had a good game but was a ballhog in the end. Ray Allen should have been giving the ball a lot more near the end. When are the rest of the team going to realize just how well conditioned Ray is compared to Paul?:smash: Pierce was out of gas.

Garrnet did well 5 for 5 to start the game then disappeared .\
Davis did good

Rondo tried to do too much, maybe he is hurt or atleast tweaked a bit.

Orlando definately came prepared to play.
I hope Boston is ready for Wed. night, they need to close this out.

I loved game 3 even though it was a clinic out there. That got the Magic's attention I guess.

Slipknot 05-26-2010 09:21 PM

The Celtics and Perkins got HOSED!:wall::smash::smash:

that T better be rescinded

slim chance of pulling this one out
get the ball to Ray

Damn right that better get rescinded! Gotta to say though that after watching Perk's career in Boston his bitching gets old. I appreciate the enthusiasm but he goes nuts over just about every other foul that is called on him.

Van 05-27-2010 06:55 AM

In his defense, the officiating was pretty lop-sided. DWhite is not being called for all the dirty play and that pissing off the big guys.

I am still looking for the kidnapper of RONDO....WTF???

ProfessorM 05-27-2010 07:43 AM

don't know about you guys but I am really nervous now. The momentum has really shifted and i don't feel good about winning the next game. Like a different team right now. Got to keep them under 95 points or forgetaboutit. Glad I didn't watch it last nite, work. Did see the high, low lites and I agree that tech was bad and I hope baby is back from queer street cause he we need him. time to strap them on guys.

In all fairness, the Celtics were pretty much roughing up Orlando the 1st couple of games of the series, with out any whistles.....the refs are letting them play, I have no problem with that..... Like the professor said....strap on a pair and give it right back to them

Pretty much sick of Howard's repeated "inadvertent" elbows, or follows through to the floor. I pray to God that the C's get a big, early lead and then hammer the piss out of Howard.

And they did let them play the first couple games, but there were no elbows connecting to any Magic domes. About time to go eye for an eye. Knock down Nelson on a drive. Smack Carter around. "Inadvertently" elbow Howard in the head. Talk about Barnes mother. :fury: (Betcha he would snap!) :biglaugh:

Howard is remind me of Bill Lambeer - LOTS

Too many elbows in conjunction with faux innocent looks. That arm grapple slamming Pierce to the floor was one of way too many.

Exactly....grow a set and give it right back to them.....If they are gonna let it go then go for it......but don't stand around w/ a pouty look on your face looking for a whistle all the time

FishermanTim 05-27-2010 10:40 AM

I second that!
Don't wait for the officials to win the game for you, get out and PLAY!

Of course, a well placed knee to knee collision with Howard could just be an "accident". :rollem::rolleyes::huh::angel::rotflmao:

MarshCappa 05-27-2010 11:01 AM

I'm not too worried right now. If you told me we'd be up 3-2 at this point prior to the series I would be psyched. I think we will win Friday. Blow out.

I still feel the C's win Friday as well. But a lot of expectations will go out the window if Perk is suspended for 7 playoff techs, 'Sheed's back doesn't clear up and BBD is still in La-La land. Heard he also had teeth knocked out.

2nd of the 2 techs on Perk rescinded.

2010 NBA playoffs: Kendrick Perkins eligible for the Boston Celtics' Game 6 against the Orlando Magic after technical foul rescinded - ESPN Boston

Saltheart 05-27-2010 11:24 PM

Howard is getting away with murder. The arms always grabbing , the hands raking people faces , the elbows always swinging. Its dirty play and only one way to stop it if the refs won't. They call it a "hatchet man". Send in the big red head from the bench and tell him his job is to simply nail Howard. BY the third time , the refs smarten up and start calling fouls on Howard or he leaves the game with a broken nose.
Bill laimbeer was a classic case. he got out of control so the next game when he went up for a ball , Robert Parish squared off , planted his feet and simply punched him right in the face . 1 personal foul and one technical on Parish later, the refs put a stop to Laimbeers bull because they saw either they would stop it or someone was going to the hospital.

Howards crap is so obvious I don't see how anyone watching it objectively could say its other than dirty. I have a feeling the powers that be saw a 4 game slaughter and sweep by Boston which is not good for the TV revenue and told the refs to let Howard get physical. Fine, good old fashion Bball.........so send out the good old fashion "hatchet man"

ProfessorM 05-29-2010 08:28 AM

well done. I just hope we are healthy enough to give it a good shot. Nutin would be sweeter than to beat LA again in say 7 like in 69, although I don't need a 7 game coronary.

MarshCappa 05-29-2010 08:36 AM

Perfect video Paul! What a team! They looked good last night and I really like how this team " Get's it"! I feel like there is another banner in the making with this unit.:uhuh:

Van 05-30-2010 07:54 AM

The Celts got the spirit and drive to take the whole thing.
If everyone stays healthy I think they can do it.
:jump1::jump1:

The classic matchup for the finals.
LA has a score to settle from 2 years ago.
Should be an interesting series.

More nights with no sleep though....:wall:
