The maps I've seen indicate a narrow band, but it is looking like we're in the target.

Amazing this morning. Forecast was for a dusting and I think we had a solid 3".

Piscator 01-25-2011 09:33 PM

Striperman,

What's it look like for Marshfield? More rain than snow?

striperman36 01-25-2011 09:57 PM

Windy, but not alot of mixed precip

striperman36 01-25-2011 10:00 PM

Snow totals may go up depending on the track of the storm. curent models hav it moving slightly more off shore bringing down more cold air via NW flow gusting into 35-40kt range and increasing the 'fluff' factor!

Larry, better have more Larry beer for his neighbors to shovel for.

ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM WITH HEAVY SNOW WILL LIKELY IMPACT MUCH OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND MAINLY WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY

12-15 is possibly in areas PVD-BOS-ORD Corridor.

MakoMike 01-26-2011 11:13 AM

Already started snowing down here, started about 9:30 and its snowing heavily. If this lasts like it is right now until tomorrow morning we will probably get well over a foot of the devil dust.

spence 01-26-2011 12:09 PM

Some flurries around here. Temp doesn't seem to be climbing as predicted...

JohnnyD 01-26-2011 12:17 PM

spence 01-26-2011 12:38 PM

Snow really picked up in the past 1/2 hour. Radar looks like it's on...

I thought it wasn't supposed to get going until 7pm WTF???

Temp is still way down. Perhaps the warm air isn't coming and we're going to get more snow than predicted.

zacs 01-26-2011 01:07 PM

what is the latest, sm36?????

Piscator 01-26-2011 02:31 PM

been snowing pretty steady here in Marshfield for a solid hour and a half

striperman36 01-26-2011 02:36 PM

there was a seperate low, preceding the big event, that now is dumping alot of snow down here. the NWS just updated the snow totals.

Not sure if I can get off the island in about 2 hours. there was a food fight at the Stop and Shop over white eggs!!!

tysdad115 01-26-2011 02:52 PM

Snowing real good in Wareham for a few hours too.

JackK 01-26-2011 04:29 PM

Just drove back to Gloucester from Woods Hole... Pretty heavy snow in WH started around 12. Slowly petered off once we got north of the cape, light flurries here now.

PRBuzz 01-26-2011 04:37 PM

Matt (NECN) b u c k i n g the trend and doesn't believe the models: forecasting 10+" south of line extending from Cape Ann to Bridgeport CT. All of Cape now 10+", any early rain quickly changing back to snow.

BTW: Matt yesterday said snow would start much earlier in afternoon than anyone else predicted. Seems he was correct on that point!

striperman36 01-26-2011 05:39 PM

Friggin Cornell dude what does he know.

yeah, 10"+

PRBuzz 01-26-2011 05:47 PM

Why won't this site permit the word: b u c k i n g (without spaces)?

I think I took the storm pointer home :buds:. Work from Home tomorrow.

Thunder snow is possible, along with lots of wind for 6-8 hours tonight.

Watching this stuff on nexrad is awesome...would rather be fishing though.

So how did the Cornell guy do with Cape forecast? He got my area right!

JackK 01-27-2011 01:17 PM

Ended up with around a foot here. Funny... light flurries from 1900-2200, then it stopped. I went to bed at around 2330... Woke up at 630, and there was a foot on the ground. Must have all come down at once.

So... the question on everyone's mind...

When's the next one?

striperman36 01-27-2011 01:56 PM

small one Sat - Sat night, weakening clipper may just wither on the jet stream

Maybe too cold to snow Tuesday into Wednesday most areas but some will have snow.

UserRemoved 01-27-2011 02:01 PM

striperman36 01-27-2011 02:12 PM
