I'm sure he's come up but pretty clean stuff. Early stuff when he's 21 or so and later in life.

Had supper at the kids house last night and was entertained by an eight and fourteen year old guitarists.LEARNING.
Well i came home and got sucked in until three this morning. That's a lot of guitar you tubing. Listened to Sharon Isbin Narcise Yepes Andres Segovia John Williams Great Guitarists of the world Wow and to think that I cant even play a root te toot |

found it. Here is one of my favorite solos of all time. Kind of a long tune but the solo at the end is classic, come in around 4:50 if you don't want to spend the time. It is a tune that slowly builds to the solo. . Luv this guitar sound. So happy that someone finally put some of this album on the tube.

Great to see Zappa recognized as one of the greatest. Here is one of my favorites in a totally different mode. Tony Rice is so totally awesome! Check out his solo.
YouTube - Mark O'Connor, Tony Rice, Bela Fleck - Freeborn Man |
So many awesome posts here. Many not to my taste but I can definitely respect the ability and talent. This is one of my favs. Of a different genre than the others, but it blows me away each time I see it. And it isn't just the flat pickin' of Tony Rice....its the mando of Sam Bush, the fiddle of O'Connor, the banjo of Bela Feck, and the dobro of Douglas. All at the absolute top of their game.

I saw mark O'Connor play with the Dregs quite a long time ago.
I gave Tony Rice his own thread http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...tony-rice.html Seems you like bluegrass so you may like this thread too. Lots of talent listed here. New Grass Revival with Bela,Bush, are one of my fav. bluegrass bands http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...bluegrass.html and one more. Should keep you busy for a while. http://www.striped-bass.com/Stripert...formances.html |
Not my favorite Version of this Solo but I really enjoy the live album recording of this. The Lead Solo Perfomed picks up the Melody Perfectly IMHO

Saw this band way back in the late 70s and it shaped my way of looking at music and not just listening to what everyone else my age listened to just to be cool or to fit in.
YouTube - Chuck Mangione-Feels So Good (Full Version) Grant Geissman is the guitar player with Chuck back them. The guy on sax Chris Vadala was the best I've seen also. |

#1 favorite would be leslie west/mountain's nantucket sleigh ride. the album cut from twin peaks. can only listen to it once a week. just about ruined my air guitar.

Don't thing there has been any Joe Perry yet either. Kind of surprising for a New England bunch. Not the best necessarily, but a long time fav from my impressionable days.

Kind of long, but well worth it. I would have loved to hear Gary and Roy do this together.
