You feel full longer and give your body the energy

examples - scrambled eggs with spinach
- no fat plain greek yogurt with a handful of almonds and blueberries

I was going to put em basically the exact same things, 'cept
scrambled w/ morels if you got em.

the greek w/ blueberries and just a touch of honey or agave. haven't tried it with almonds, but will.

Best breakfast ever was

Steamed clams and ice cold Bud at 6:00 a.m. in Mattapoisett. Visiting friends when I was a kid and my buddy wakes me up a 4:00 a.m. to go clamming. Chit I said it early. I was glad to crawl out of his kids sleeping bag though that smelled of pee.

Came back with the clams and his wife Cathy cooked them up and we ate them all before the kids were up and polished off the six-pack too boot.

Stomach couldn't do that now. But I have to tell you, I remember how delicious they were to this day.

On the oatmeal thing... Instant oatmeal with a cup of fruit cocktail keeps me going. A little maple syrup for the sugar high. Most days its what looks good on the roach coach.

Adam_777 06-27-2011 03:33 PM

Yogurt,Ice tea and a fiber bar every morning. Not healthy but it holds me over until at least ten when I take my first break.

Had the great Brunch yesterday with some family members. I baked a nice Cook's Hamand made Belgian waffles and my uncle did a huge thing of scrambled eggs. Being unable to choose either , I put Strawberries and whipped cream on half my waffle and butter and pure Vermont maple syrup on the other half. OJ , and coffee to wash it all down. The waffles were delicious (with both toppings) :). Those Cook's Brand Hams are also really good quality.

The only thing missing were the Cheesy potatoe patties I like to make. Kind of like mashed potatoes with lots of shredded cheese mixed in then fried in a fry pan like a hamburger patty until the cheese melts then develops a brown kind of crust on the outside. I love to make the cheesy potatoes for breakfast when I go camping!

I started eating Cheerios for breakfast before I learned to talk. I called them Yowas. I figure I have averaged eating Cheerios for breakfast 5 days a week. Would be higher but never got up in college. So based on my age and eating an average of 2.5 bowl fulls each morning, I figure I have consumed, 35,000 bowls of Cheerios. Hence I used to be known as the Cheerios Kid.

So if they find out that too many Cheerios will kill you, then I am totally F *ucked.

note- I even bring a small box when I go to Cuttyhunk.

The best thing about Cheerios is that when you only have a half a bowl left, you can tear the box up into little pieces and eat them. They taste exactly the same as their contents.:rotf2:

Good thread.
Healthy breakfast keep us active all the day.
Healthy breakfast gives us energy and potential
to do certain tasks in a day.I also do breakfast with

I found a good snack food is Craisins. I get a huge bag at BJ's. The Craisins have such a strong taste that you only eat a little and you get satisfied. A big bag can last me 2 or 3 weeks with just a small handful every night.

I'm convinced that certain foods really dense in flavor satisfy your taste buds without eating a whole box of whatever. Unlike cookies where one chases the next one , strong tatsing fruits seems to just satisfy you after a little. In addition to craisins , I find Kiwi fruit that way. After a Kiwi or 2 , I seem to feel satisfied.

Raven 10-02-2011 04:31 AM

sunflower seeds (not roasted) do that too...

and your right on the cookies...they are like Beer
have one and you want another.... to no end

the more you chew your food... it creates a substance that
satisfies your appetite... shutting it down

The woman that does modeling for me (she's 42) eats oatmeal made with water and two protein bars during the day. Veggies and steamed fish for dinner a crazy protein/carb pre-workout drink, and then lifts weights, and watches t.v. for a couple hours on the treadmill. No booze, no ice cream, no popcorn at the movies, no special occasion departures, no days off.
To really make a difference, you have to pretty much give up everything. It's a radical decision. I've lost about 70 pounds and kept it off for few years now. But it wasn't until she pointed out to me how much you have to give up to really make it work - just about everything.
That's why people remain half-fat: because they only take half measures.

Saltheart 10-02-2011 01:25 PM

But you can consume all the eye candy you want! :) Very attractive.

With the boomers aging, women in their 40's who are in shape are very much in demand as personal trainers. I read an article about it called, "The Jillian Micheals Effect."
Women see someone close to their own age who is in shape, and it's a much more convincing sell than some chicky who is 23. I'd tell her to open a studio to help people lose weight, but like most good-looking women she's missing the empathy chip.

Some people have to cut WAY back for results since they burn so little off.

Quantity is often overlooked, even when the food is "healthy". It's why you can easily have fat vegetarians.

And then of course there's the issue that as a nation we are just overweight and lazy.

The CDC obesity chart always is tough to comprehend.

Click play and witness the ever growing fatness:

Joe 10-03-2011 05:32 PM

Very true.
If you're fat now, and you want to actually be thin (not just less fat) you're looking at radical lifestyle changes. I think if the truth were more widely known about just how much effort it took to actually be thin, the diet industry would take a whopping hit.
Being fat was by far the worst experience of my life - people treat you like sh_t or like you're not there.
