Trying for the "late" category now!

Had a few fish to 17lbs last night. Made me realize how much I miss bucktailing.

Nice fish Brian! The CSA crew has me inspired. There's still hope.

I'll make it out this weekend unless the goblins get me.

Thanks Rob. I have a couple of weeks (11/15-11/17). I plan on getting a report from some of the guys from my club who will be out there 2 days before me.

Just to let George know I can sometimes catch a fish on a plug. You can tell that I'm getting low on eels this time of year.

The plug: The Larry BF 2.3 Surfster he gifted me last year.

Bonds.

Sea Dangles 11-03-2011 06:16 AM

Nice work Alan, don't be burning that spot though...

numbskull 11-03-2011 06:25 AM

Not bad for a guy trying to fish with a newly torn rotator cuff. But I suggest you consider a face lift, too, when they fix your shoulder.

bart 11-03-2011 06:41 AM

nice fish

Actually, I think he is crumpling from pain.

Alan is out there fishing every night with a newly blown right rotator cuff (new like 2-3 weeks). He can't move his right arm without agony and each cast is torture. Yet he is still out there at 3 am, night after night, during a dead season, alone, lob casting L handed.

Still, it was just dumb effing luck that he got a fish on a plug. Probably he snagged it.

tysdad115 11-03-2011 11:03 AM

Proof that a quality plug will catch, despite the angler.

thewaterfordstriper 11-03-2011 07:07 PM

very nice fish

Four Categories:

1.First fish entered= Sea of Atlas (clinched)

2.Largest= Waterford Striper leads with a 44# fish.

3.Last entered=Sauerkraut leading with a 31.5# fish weighed on 11/3.

4. Numbskull award for smallest fish= still up for grabs...must be 16" or less to qualify.

Eff that! No way I'm letting Sauerkraut finish with the last fish.

I'm entering this one, maybe 18", and don't give me no crap about it being over maximum size for the smallest fish. This is a genuine, no two ways around it, puny fish.....caught on the heaviest, most powerful tackle I own.

Some one has to set the low bar, too, and I'm the guy to do it.

Aw come on now. Don't be so hard on yourself. I would say that fish looks like at least 19"

You know George, if you pinch the tail when you measure it you can squeeze another half an inch out...:biglaugh:

bart 11-09-2011 11:02 AM

Nice, Michael

ProfessorM 11-09-2011 12:05 PM

His own. I think he was trying to win the contest so he wouldn't have to give anything away.

Shame it's bass-only. A few days ago I caught a 10" herring on a 7" ss pink darter while drifting under tension in a breachway. Not foul-hooked, the thing straight-up tried to eat the plug. Hooked through the lip on the front treble.
