Gusts 50-75 depending on where you are.

Nobody in Eastern MA should be driving anywhere after 5pm Friday.
Airlines are already moving equipment, I have people stuck all around the country

Eastern MA, all west of the Cape is looking at 3-4 inches of precip at 10-12 to 1 you get the drift

JohnR 02-07-2013 07:51 AM

Too bad they already burnt the "SnowMageddon" tag

JackK 02-07-2013 08:16 AM

Snowmapocamageddonalypse?

BMEUPSCOTTY 02-07-2013 08:49 AM

Aww, they named it after a little cartoon fish, how bad can it be??

striperman, how are the models shaping up, is everything agreeing with the Euro at this point.
I want a healthy snow in falmouth, although I'll be sitting in the dark, with wet snow, powerlines, and 60 mph winds

Ian 02-07-2013 09:14 AM

I think its safe to say the Euro model is no longer the Euro model, its the truth... I'm not trusting any other models anymore

waiting for the 12z euro build it's not complete yet.

The NAM is still showing the 3-4 " of total precip that WCVB is using for it's 39+ inches in Woostah by 0700 Sunday

You should all go to your local DPW and get a bucket of the sand/salt mix. Usually allowed one per residence, at least here. I just stocked the eight houses I will be clearing, plus one in the truck in case I get stuck.

BMEUPSCOTTY 02-07-2013 11:32 AM

Coastal flooding

This thing is starting to look like the real deal. Check out the surge and wave projections for Sandwich Harbor...:lurk: The wind speed map for the European model predicts SUSTAINED winds of 57 mph on the cape. Remember to charge up your cameras and phones and (as much as SAFELY possible) get out and take some storm pics, maybe we can have a storm pic thread... I still get pumped for a good storm, but I dread losing power and also the cleanup...:cheers:

Mr. Sandman 02-07-2013 12:14 PM

I hope it rains. the weather folks are having wet dreams about this thing. One guy said one of the models predicts some towns could get 70+ inches. Personally I think that is irresponsible of them to report what these models say directly. All of these models make physical assumptions and you can tweak them to say just about anything...as my computational fluid dynamics professor said...assumptions are the mother of all phuckups.

Weather is now a full on reality show and the reporters showing cleavage get the highest ratings.

(BTW, that pic of Kate U is awesome! )

It will be 45 deg on Monday...

Rockfish9 02-07-2013 12:15 PM

I'll be leaving for the rotary derby @ 5 AM tomorrow... going to be the toughest( most miserable) fishing I have ever done...

Seriously though, don't want a repeat of this...

johnny ducketts 02-07-2013 01:07 PM

oh you'll get it Jackson, but it won't be powdery goodness, It'll be heart attack snow.

striperman36 02-07-2013 01:37 PM

the euro has 2.5 inches of precip in SE MA, pick your multipler for temps in the 20's

like 15

How bout us on the coast? Where can I find that model?

The Dad Fisherman 02-07-2013 02:24 PM

I'm looking for Northeast MA....Looking like 34-36" of snow for us...Yippee :wall:

johnny ducketts 02-07-2013 03:13 PM

so 15 inches or 15 X 2.5 = 37.5

Redsoxticket 02-07-2013 03:35 PM

Dog will have it difficult to squat.

Model Analysis and Guidance: View parameters for selection
pick your location - closer to the coast try 10-12 out 495-95 use 15 - 1

Speaking for the rest of us.... You Bastid!

With my luck I would be stranded trying to get there, and you get "stuck" there! Your assignment is to start a new thread and document the weekend, with plenty of pics, for us to glance through, between shoveling........
Have fun

This is a first, but the guy is supposed to be good and has a 24' flats boat with 300 ponies, should be a fun ride. we will see what we catch, we are taking plenty of pics...

Stay warm all !!!!!!
