I didn't get a s-b certificate at the TFCTFN a few years ago for being a ball buster for nothing.

I called yesterday and didn't get anyone, left a message.

I called today, got someone, and they said Fri/Sat nights in April are booked.

May 11th is the next available Saturday there. Hmmm. Wonder where else we can have it?

There is an elks hall in the north end of Fall River with a hotel 30 seconds away. They have a kitchen and a bar

The search would be easier if a motel/hotel doesn't need to be within walking distance.
The VFW in Dartmouth Ma on 144 Cross Rd had a hall/kitchen available for Aoril 13th. No other dates available in April. The hall fits 100 people comfortably according to the contact oerson st the VFW. The VFW in Fairhaven holds 250 as a comparison. The cost is 200 for the hall and 50 for the kitchen. This is located near Fairhaven abutting Rt 6 near the Westport line and Kings Inn a totally nude strip joint. The Dartmouth VFW contact is Pat 508996-9599.

The Elks number is 508-672-9288 . The guy that picked up the phone stated that there are 3 different size halls and that for more information to call STEPHANIE on Monday morning.

March - booked
April - only April 27, medium size lodge hall, Kitchen is Not available because it is booked with another party.

Now what? Read post #48, I was told it was more then half the size of the Fairhaven VFW site.

Hey, the Smithfield Elks is open all Sats in March. Would be nice not to have to drive 90 miles for a change. It is right of 295, maybe 10 minutes.

Someone else needs to pick up the ball as I am on the road flying the rest of this week and back out again Monday thru next Wednesday. She will never get me.

OK, I left a message and expecting a call back this evening, well report findings later.

I went to the Fairhaven VFW to measure the rooms for future comparison. The manager stated that there is a Saturday March 9th opening however it falls on the weekend of the RISSA SW convention.

This Elks in Smithfield RI is out because the kitchen is off limits

I checked out the VFW in Dartmouth and took some pics. The hall dimensions are approximately (48 ft x 30 ft) along with a coat room, kitchen with one stove/oven and microwave, bar room which small in size with a pool table.
In comparison to the VFW in Fairhaven which has dimensions of (48 ft x 30 ft) plus (25 ft x 15 ft) which is that section near the entrance door. The difference is only the (25 ft x 15 ft)
In my opinion this hall is adequate. There is a Best Western on route 6 within two miles and two motels within less then one mile. The Dartmouth VFW is within about 2 miles of the Faunce Corner exit off rt 195 in Dartmouth, right across street from WalMart

JohnR make a decision soon in the event someone else books the April 13th, this includes the Bomba bros. I will not be able to give them a deposit until this Saturday therefore someone else from the area may need to go there if there is a problem with the VFW not receiving prior to Saturday.

I agree, the show ends at 7:00pm and if people haven't figured out what to buy by that time, there is no help.

There is a choice to be made between the two VFWs'. Good to know that RickBomba is available for April 13th. Now if RickBomba is available for March 9th we are making progress and the final decision should be made by JohnR.

I can do both. Try to let me know about March 9th as soon as possible. I'm on call next weekend and it's kind of short notice for me to switch.
