I CAN'T AFFORD TO FISH THE MS TOURNEY NOR CAN I PULL OF A THREE DAY BENDER AROUND THAT TIME THIS YEAR UNFORTUNATELY. I AM HOPING TO DRIVE DOWN TO RI FOR THE FINAL WEIGH IN ON SUNDAY IF I CAN PULL IT OFF. I UNDERSTAND THAT MOST WILL BE UNABLE TO ATTEND DUE TO THE TOURNEY BUT ANYONE NOT FISHING MS IS WELCOME. THIS WILL BE THE 1ST OF MANY GATHERINGS IF IT GOES WELL. LIKE I SAID I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IF NEXT SEASON WE CAN PLAN ON CHASING FISH FROM THE NORTH TO THE SOUTH. MAYBE EVERY OTHER WEEKEND? MA, RI, CT, NY, & NJ SEPT THROUGH OCT. PROBABLY A PIPE DREAM BUT WORTH A SHOT. JUST SOMETHING I'VE WANTED TO DO.OR EACH YEAR A NEW AREA

No charge for the Tourney - S-B pays ;) - money raised goes to MS ;)

Much more detail is needed. Can you actually have a bunch of out of town fisherman swoop down anywhere in LC , lighting fires and parking at beaches without getting acquainted with LC's finest? If so times have sure changed.

The MS Tourney IN So Co?? Is it still headquartered at the Andrea? The Sunday breakfast? Friday through Sunday? Its one thing to be vague about old stories but if people are actually coming its nice to cover the hairy details.

Never a problem there. Jeff post another who is in? thread with specifics. It's on you at this point to make it happen for us that will attend.

My we are all getting older. When I started this site, my son wasn't born, he's about as tall as half of you now.

Well said. I spend more time fishing with people from this site than I spend hanging out with friends who aren't on the site. I've met lots of people I now consider good friends through this site.

I think part of what has changed, besides all the other social media sites people are now on, is the lack of new members who regularly contribute. Maybe it's the perception that we're not very welcoming or it's too clique for them? I don't know, but when I joined way back when, I was a lurker for a long time. Then I realized that there were a lot of good discussions that welcomed differing opinions without it getting too nasty. That made it easier for me to jump in and contribute.

That being said, I really only come on the site to look at Kate Upton pictures anyways.

The interesting part is a common consensus is that "it doesnt get nasty" for the most part here. I think this is because the (sometimes despised) moderaters try to keep the "nasties" and "uglies" at bay while trying to allow for open discussion and allow everyone their opinions. Its not always an easy task and some people are rubbed the wrong way when they get edited. I think by keeping the "family friendly" ideal (with some grey areas from time to time ) this site has manged to keep its members and has not turned into a complete poop show. I know I will likely catch some flack for the mere mention of it but it is some food for thought. I have other forums I visit for my other hobbies and seen the "wild west" where anything goes and the bantering DOES get ugly and often so rediculous it becomes more of a monkey pen than a place to get and share information with like minded people.
