For the BSB not striped fans: where I was today and most of Cleveland Ledge is coved with boats. We boated about 3X (>legal sized OK) our limit today and kept only males >20" Find a spot, drop a jig :) |
Nice pics Clammer. Thanks

After a really chit day, I just laughed out loud! Thanks Clammer!

I caught a #^&#^&#^&#^& load of bass today.
A put couple pics on FB - and I probably spot burned because I was tired and didn't blur out the background. And I don't care, because it's not a secret and 50 boats are going to be there tomorrow. Btw - there were 100 cars at the canal this morning. I bet there were fish there too. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |

Real fish talk question, in the spirit of what forum and title state. When you fish and start with your usual starting lure or go to lure how long do you stay confident in it and keep throwing when the others near you are catching on a different color or different style lure? How confident or flexible are you? Why?
Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
If others near me are catching on another plug and am not, i become flexible quite quickly... But if im alone and im not catching, i stick to what i think is the best method for the given situation and keep at it.
On a side note, if im fiahing with a partner, i often like fishing something totally different them them just to see what the fish want. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
I'm confident in my lure selection, but never unwilling to make a change if another is producing. Enjoyed the photos, Clammer; regret missing the ones that were edited.
|
Today - Schoolies, one blue and one huge bad a$$ sculpin that hit when the lure first touched the water surface.

I miss hearing the stories about the June tides at the seven mile river.......

I'll take the surf any day as it was manageable, but I didn't expect that bright of a moon. Was hoping for the overcast changing to partly cloudy conditions that were originally forecast... |

Water was very clean in all 3 spots I went to.
Lots of people out chasing 2.5 week old reports lol |

I wish the season would make up it's mind. water is cold an muddy up here. Fishing is slow but worms an clams are workin in the rivers. Some on plugs off the rock piles.

Nothing wrong with eating bait for din din....Guppy... :cheers2: yum yum...... deep fried-mackerel!!! |
I got reminded why i dont normally fish on the weekends. Fished the upper bay, loaded up with bait quick. went to a pretty well known area and there were 50 boats on the drift. went south a bit and was dead. tried a couple more spots but the Sun was high and the bite was slow. Nothing. Released the pogies and went on home. Good morning on the water but man were there a ton of boats out there flinging snag hooks.

I was given a live tutorial trip at an inlet in my neck of the woods and even with extremely well directed lessons I still get the skunk. Can't be a secret spot on a beach or bay if you already see old footprints and/or tire tracks! |

The passing on of fishing knowledge is strange in that a lot of it is kept secret for many years unless you do espionage on other fisherman or are lucky enough to be the chosen one to have that knowledge passed on to. But nothing will substitute that hard work and refined technique. ******* You can "burn" a spot but you still need to be able to catch the fish just like the person who told you where and when! Of course if you go by reports, we should all be bailing fish even using a carrot on a hook...though nothing is funnier than seeing the crowds who live by those fish reports getting bummed out and cry online to the end of time... |
Although I have not posted here too much I wanted to test the waters and get a feel for this site before posting too much. I had been told that this was a much friendlier site with more camaraderie and less BS and that is what Im looking for. For a younger guy thats newer to the "scene" i got pretty tired of the back and forth nonsense of other sites. So far I like what I see and threads like this are what keep me checking in every now and than! will probably see more of me here in the months to come
