You're trying to have a conversation with an intellectual drunk who can't quite put his finger on exactly the what and how is, but floats generalized ideas explained by unverified labels.

Trump took the Tea Party rhetoric and did a much better job of playing on the fears of people.
Now the Republican party is repeating the mistakes of the Goldwater era.
Those mistakes brought, in the next few terms, all the progressive evils that conservatives now rail about.
