You can distribute it that way. Trump didn't. And I haven't seen any evidence that Trump believes Antifa are very fine people.

I just re-watched the press conference. His distribution was the pro/con sides of the statue question. And he very pointedly explained that the very fine people that were in either the pro or con side were the ones who were there to peacefully demonstrate the pro/con. And that the bad people on both of those sides were the violent Antifa and Neo Nazis.

There were no people there who were only there bc the lee monument was coming down. The unite the right march was clearly promoted amongst white nationalists and that is who was there. That is why I said there were no historians there.

The NYT interviewed at least one person who claimed she was one of those who came merely to demonstrate, peacefully, for keeping the statue. And she disavowed any connection with Neo Nazis or White Nationalists who she considered bad people. So, yes, there were others who were only there bc of the statue controversy.

The only time he said anything critical about the neo Nazis was when the reporter would question Trump's attempt to defend the right. Trump even claimed that the night before the march was peaceful.

He condemned the Neo Nazis several times in the conference and he specifically said he was not referring to them when he said there were very fine people on both sides.

The night before was where more than marchers held tiki torches at UVA and chanted “Jews will not replace us” and “Blood and soil.” Whatever this event may have been, it was certainly not “people protesting very quietly.
