Bassmaster, Nice to briefly meet you, I was pretty busy with my plug "aquisition" project for the day:D
You did give a good demo... It was fast, but I gleened some good stuff looking over your shoulder.

RIROCKHOUND 01-08-2004 10:40 AM

Ben,
More than I can afford...
I live on ocean Rd (but I rent not own, and am in the basement, no water view), but I can cast to the wall from my parking space if I want!... hooked a car once with my vs/arra combo, thats how I broke that rod, dont listen to John when he says otherwise....:smash:

How about a house on the narrowriver with a dock! thats my dream pad...
Have a little maco that I could take down to the inlet or leave the inlet and fish frenchmans or go the otherway and fish the rocks all the way to the lighthouse...

keep eel traps under the dock..

Someday:mad:

RIROCKHOUND 01-08-2004 10:48 AM

Yeah, thats one of mine... actually, I'd love to have a new version of the shack out on the pile in the middle of the cove N of Sprauge bridge....

Nebe 01-08-2004 10:53 AM

a friend of mine almost bought it back on the early 70's... Someone ownes it now, but teh state wont let him fix it up because of the obvious wetland regs...

RIROCKHOUND 01-08-2004 10:56 AM

Yeah,
I think actually I wouldnt mind owning Waves, and living at the end o Ledge....... Or at the Clambake Club on E. Point, that was where I learned to 'go pluggin' with my father, usually late afternoons after fishing... along with a few other tresspassing spots in the area......

Nebe 01-08-2004 11:07 AM

clambake club would be pissa....

bu since were dreaming.... how about the last house next to the "Q" breachway...

RIROCKHOUND 01-08-2004 11:09 AM

Yeah... that would be Schweeeet....
Maybe even Rough Point if we're really pushing it!

I just read 'On the Run' and it got me thinking about planing my own dream trip... It would be cool to buy an old Egg Harbor trawler and follow the migration down the coast.... Anchoring at some sweet bass holes and row in to surfcast the rocks and bars at night, then jig the rips and rockpiles in the egg harbor durring the day... If I ever found my self without a lady and a family and it was time to retire this would be the way I'd go out.....I think I'd even have get my captian's liscense and do charters to pay for all the diesel
:smash:

RIROCKHOUND 01-08-2004 02:27 PM

Yeah, its a tough thing about boating is the cost!, I have the choice between my fathers 26' and my 13' when I go out, and except for blackfishing in the late fall/winter, I almost ALWAYS take the little boat, no fuel, no extra work, just jump in, yank the starter and go.. funny cause a few years ago, all I wanted to do was go bigger and farther offshore... occasional trips are fun, but everyday/week with 60 mile runs... nah... I'll stay inshore... I'm sure as long as I can afford it, I'll have some kind of boat, but my guess is it will always be on the small side... besides, by the time you retire, all the old Egg's will be gone and the new ones are production crap... give me a Bertram anyday of the week... out and back in a hurricane lol, although a pretty Jim Smith, G&S or Rybo wouldnt be bad...

If I had been single when I graduated college I probably would have gone the route you just mentioned Eben, travel working on a yacht or something, make my ticket earn me a livin, not just be a side job, but.......... life is still good....

bassmaster 01-08-2004 03:43 PM

Take that boating chit outa here:mad: :af:

Fishweewee--I've got a guestroom that may interest you this coming season. But you may well have many fishing friends with spare bedrooms. I live close, real close, to four star striper spots, but the five star spots are only a short jog away.
