This show is regarded as one of the best ever by many dead fans. Most times I pass on the popular opinion shows, but this one deserves the hype. Another one worthy of adding to the rotation. Pure magic:

Had this guy on pod yesterday. Pretty underrated IMO. Like this bluesy tune a lot.

This also today for you fusion fans. This tune is fantastic. I never grow bored of Jean Luc's stuff. I just found out that the bassist is Randy Jackson of American Idol fame. The guy is pretty darn good. I'm impressed.

I liked that...very Steely Dan-ish.

He has done some work for them on occasion and worked with Pink Floyd on The Wall album. There isn't many he hasn't played with being a studio player for 40 years. His solo stuff is fantastic usually with the hiring of the best studio guys he has played with. No slouches for him.

Some Dan. Great talk box solo by Dean Parks.

ProfessorM 01-11-2014 05:51 PM

If you find Dean Parks interesting here is a band, Koinonia, early 80 he had a big part of. Some real good session players, which Dean was and Steely Dan used on all their albums, came out of this band. He left early in the bands history so it is hard to find a lot he did with them. He is still a sought after sessions player in LA according to his site.

Check out this guys resume, unbelievable

This came up on the pod today. Great blues sound. This guy is 16 on this album 1969, produced by Al Kooper. Great guitar sound. If you are a fan of the blues check out some more of this guy you won't be dissapointed.
Plus he played bass on Hot Rats for Mr. Zappa. It is truly amazing how many great players I stumble on and find out they had a stint with Frank. FZ talent guru extraordinaire.

One more little ditty that came up on pod yesterday. A true classic of Brubeck and Paul Desmond.
