I don't care what your opinions are. Just use acceptable language to express them. I don't have time to edit posts to get rid of gutter talk. if it sounds too bad to me I'm deleting the whole post. I shouldn't have to tell you this but please behave like adults.
Please review your own posts and edit out the gutter talk I may have missed. thanks |
Guys - this can be debated til bloo in the face but keep it CLEAN. "Family Friendly" and all that crapols....
Zank you, Vil be heeah altza veek.... |
Sorry to all members.
Obviously I got a bit fired up when I was told to get a grip. Fished 'til the tide change on Tuckernuck tonight. Current stats are 12 fish 27- 38". Lot of fun. Beach and boat. A little rough along the bars. Perfect surf and rip fishing. Via Sat link right now. We are back out around mid night. Cooking up a nice meal of steamers, bass and beers right now :D We have got a pretty good grip here but I will make sure I watch my mouth when I lose it in the future ;) T.G.I.F Thank God It's Fall ! |
Beers and steamers don't count!!:D
|
:D
Had another 2 doz. fish between us all after midnight. I think the fish are starting to wake up  By the way you can't just motor up and stay on Tuckernuck. It is private and I have a friend who owns a house there so.... But the fishing around is good. Just be real careful of the rips. The one at the mouth of Smiths Point will end it all for you if your motor stalls in an outgoing tide. Class 10 rapids (is there such a thing ?) :( |

Class I "Wild Water definition: Very relaxing." Gentle, moving water. Very small waves requiring little or no maneuvering. Class II "Wild Water definition: You may get splashed." Regular waves, easy to see, may reach 3 to 4 feet in height. Avoiding rocks, river bends or other obstacles may require simple maneuvering. Class III "Wild Water definition: You will get wet!" Large, continuous series or sets of waves, some in excess of 6 feet. "Holes" or "hydraulics" may be present, and can be run or avoided. Small drops, ledges or waterfalls may be present. Scouting the rapids is suggested for all but the most experienced of river persons. Class IV "Wild Water definition: You'll get soaked… like a 9 or 10 on the "fun scale"! Confused and erratic waves or holes. Large obstructions need to be avoided in what are referred to as "must moves". Risk of injury if swimming without benefit of a raft! Very difficult and scouting is required. Class V "Wild Water definition: Adrenaline junkies only! For most people, class V goes off the "fun" scale and enters the "kinda scary" scale! Very challenging for even the most experienced river persons. High risk of capsize or injury. Limit of navigation and scouting is essential. Class VI "Wild Water definition: Niagara Falls in a barrel!" Virtually non-navigable, or navigable only at particularly favorable river levels. |
Class X - the ones that will toss your 25' kevlar hull 30 feet to the next breaker - nothing but net....
I've seen them from the Smiths Point side, NAAHHHSSSSTYYYYYY |
Class X is probably a good name. Not quite the drop of Niagara but I think we all know what the pounding would be......
John, you would want to see them from the stalled motor scenario. Envision the rips off the East side on a smoking NE'ster. Ridiculous........... Just the thought of it gets me worried :( I use my earthlink wireless to get through to my Comcast page, checked my mail and then over to SB. It worked great. Fishing was a blast. Great bunch of local boys and a lot of laughs. They giggled even more when I told them I was giving a website a fishing report. One of em' got pissed until he realised how difficult it is to be over there and it was unlikely the world would show up. A lot of the Fly/spin charters work the island as well. Produces some great topwater action in a lot of spots. :) Beaches are really heating up here. A lot of boys banging lately. :smash: Nantucket Tackle tourney this weekend. Weather looks good. :D |
John,
I meant you "wouldn't" want to see them from that vantage. It would abandon ship time ! Ugly and Nasty is right ! |
The current runs so hard around Smith Point that the water forms a bank like a banked car racing track on the curves. Seriously! :)
|
You aren't joking Saltheart.
And to see it when there is a swell ? Absolutely frightening ! Last week when these storms were haunting the waters it was 20 ' and blowing 30+ up in the air ! Total "Game Over" scenario ! |
Huh?
I've always been on the fence on whether fish feel pain or not, I just don't know. But, I can guarantee ya none of em can count. They just do too much stupid sh*t to be smart enough to count. And even if they could, why would the one's who got caught from the shore be better counters? I don't get it. Oh, I love my boat :D |
Beautiful :D
Long live boats and the beach ! :) |
well i just read all the posts here on our little tug of war! i've fished boat and shore and some pretty nasty spots from both. i'll boatfish any time i get asked cause i don't own one now. otherwise i'm fishing from shore. if i catch fish great if i don't then oh well!! for me it's just being on or at the water's edge that matters to me. it's my getaway from all the crap that life's thrown at me.it's my peacefull time to forget everything if only for a little while. i'm not out to be the master fisherman and couldn't possibly learn all there is to know about boat or shore fishing. all i know is i love them both and have no hard feelings toward the boater or the shore person. the only thing that matters is i fish to escape and relax!!!!
|
Well said, man.
That is the way I feel. Fishing is the great escape. After a tough day a work it's a great way to detach oneself from it all. My only complaint would be that if I could work as long as I fish each day and fish as long as I work each day it would be a better balance. This work thing is taking up too much time. It is way overated ! :( |
Hey GS-
It don't count if it's from a boat. :bshake: :p :hihi: -WW |
