I am lucky enough to fish 99% of the time less than 5 miles from my house, so, for the most part fuel prices will not affect my fishing. I will still make a couple short adventures (200 miles round trip) this fall. It definitely helps that I have a diesel truck as I average ~20 mpg on the highway. While that is not great mileage these days as far as smaller car is concerned, it is good for a big truck that can carry all of my crap

I'll still make a couple weekend trips this fall, its tougher finding the free time with work. Its the kind of thing that if I didnt spend the extra 30.00 on gas now then I'd regret it all winter when its not possible to do.

In 2003 and 2004 I put over 200 hours on my engine each season, this year, only 40 hours. This sucks... :hs:

All I can say is that I'm going to have to catch a lot more fish to justify the expense!
