I like the stretch from the hurricane barrior to the providence place mall. No where else can you catch coney island whitefish with such great abundance.

Seems as though MV,Outer Cape and BI are the pretty popular.

I have fished MV frequently in the past (worked and lived there for 3 years, mostly squibby) and I would have to say my "little" striper hide-out here in Americas Hometown would have to take the cake. So little is said (or known) about this rocky shoreline from Ellisville to Plymouth Beach. While not all of it holds "large" there are some hidden waters here that are always good for a 35-40 lb fish year in and year out. And the best part, you ALWAYS have these places to yourself.

Hey MARTY....I think we know each other, even fished together a couple of times...this is Joe from vermont....I also fish Ogunquit almost exclusively....but reading these posts, of regular big fish, great structure, a little privacy, makes me want to fish a lot of other spots. But if I'm right Marty, you did manage a gorgeous 42" this summer....I hope all is great with you...

When the OBX is on it can be red hot but for consistant action Block Island sure would be hard to beat as my favorite.

To narrow it down on the back beach, for me its fishing through from Longnook to Balston, or a longer huff from Ballston to Newcomb.

Late summer on a late night drop, it's a beautiful place.

Hey JohnR I used to be one of the guys that issued the oversand permits at the race. I worked there two summers ago. Maybe you bought it from me. haha. Sorry if the access may have been closed, I don't make the call on that...just sell the passes.

Ahhhh....the good ole days of the backside from LeCounts to Highhead. You could get out of the truck, sniff the air and KNEW you were gonna catch at least 1 fish over 30# and be pizzed cause you only got 6. Nothin but waders, a bucket of eels, a tin and a jolt. Light travelin. Walk 3 to 10 miles a night poundin the sand......and then the seals took over.....Now, Westport. 8 miles each way instead of 100+ and no need to fish all night. If the wind is bad or the water is dirty, no wasted time. Wetsuit, korkers, tin and bucket of eels.. Hellava lot harder. But do I EVER miss the sands of the big back beaches.........someday........
