Get well soon Steve...bad week to get sick....

Saltheart 11-06-2007 08:55 AM

Thats's bad news. Scary they don't even know what causes it. Is he at RI Hospital? I'm not a doctor but if I had something so long with 3 occurances , i'd be heading to a Boston hospital. Best of Luck Steve and I hope they figure it out fast for you.

Bill , maybe print info below out and give to Steve.

Billy - tell Steve I'm praying & hoping for the best for him.

Fish_Eye 11-06-2007 09:11 AM

Get well soon Steve. I'm hard at work editing a longer version of the video that showcases your magnificent 40 pound, shore-caught striper for my new DVD, "Secrets of the Striper Pros II".

Steve you need to get well so we can work on a 50 pound sequel next season.

Keep a positive attitude...just like when you're fishing...it always helps!

Thoughts and prayers from the Laptew family.

Dad 818 11-06-2007 09:38 AM

Bill, let Steve know we're all pulling for him, and thanks for the updates.

piemma 11-06-2007 09:40 AM

Billy, if Steve wants to talk to my cardiologist, let me know. he is part of the Brown University Cardio team at RI Hospital. They are the best!!! Did my quad bypass 4 years ago.

Flaptail 11-06-2007 09:49 AM

I hope he gets better.

chris L 11-06-2007 10:02 AM

Brother Brian 11-06-2007 10:24 AM

Thoughts and prayers. God speed.

Flaptail 11-06-2007 10:51 AM

He will be a member of the Coumadin Club from now on. Getting nicked by a hook or a gill or spine will be a really big pain in the ass for him. He will have to be really careful from here on out when he gets back to fishing.

Rockport24 11-06-2007 11:10 AM

T+P's sent! get well soon Steve!

Very sorry to hear about the additional clots and back into ICU - I had spoken with him on Friday before this hit and he was looking forward to getting out and about.

All the best, mate. Hang in there, and wishing you a good diagnosis and a speedy recovery.

Finlander 11-06-2007 12:26 PM

Steve,
Sorry to hear latest, hang in there and get well soon.

k-e-v-i-n 11-06-2007 02:36 PM

Katie 11-06-2007 03:10 PM

T&P's sent Get well soon Steve!!

Nebe 11-06-2007 04:40 PM

Bill, please ask steve if he has told the DR.s about all the glue is is so frequently in contact with.. If they know that he was in contact with that stuff, it might help them find a reason for his condition.

gone fishin 11-06-2007 07:08 PM

Best wishes for a complete recovery.. T&P sent .

rhodyflyguy 11-06-2007 08:14 PM

prayers sent to steve and his family. it might be a good idea for steve's family members to be tested for clotting disorders, too, as a lot of times they're hereditary.

Gobi 11-06-2007 11:39 PM

Get well soon

Get well soon Steve - you've got loads of people rooting for you. We can all rig some sluggos for you if that's what it takes. G

snake slinger 11-07-2007 05:29 AM

numbskull 11-07-2007 06:28 AM

An axiom of medicine is..."the nicest people get the worst diseases". So unfair. Heal fast, Steve.

eelman 11-07-2007 07:37 AM

Steve is still in the ICU, he told me yesterday they are leaning towrds something being wrong with his blood causing it to clot for some reason, tests continue..I am going to visit with him today, I will pass along all your thoughts, Hopefully they get some type of answer soon, its a dicey situation and seemed to come on so fast.

And yes Nebe, I mentioned the glue thing to him...At this point they will look at just about anything,Thanks

Dad 818 11-07-2007 09:06 AM

Thanks for the update and keep us posted Bill.

Valinn Ranelli 11-07-2007 09:22 AM

Hope he gets better. He's a great guy and he opened my eyes to a whole new class of baits. Blood clotting problem? maybe its all that sluggo glue. Seriously, thay is harsh stuff. I probobly should be more careful around it too. Especially with the giant rubber eel multiple hook rigs I'm now making, modeled after Steve's slug-go rig, but w/ 3-5 hooks.

Fisherwoman 11-07-2007 09:37 AM

Bill please give Steve our best as we will say a prayer for his speedy recovery.
Bill & jules
