Yes, I too do land & release all my Bass (& Blues too) by (usually gloved) hand! I Lip even 30lb.+ Bass no problem! (unless she has a face- full of trebles!)... & release in- water usually! I would NEVER use a Boga on a Bass of any size: not because they're "uncool"/ non- traditionalist to use... but because they KILL BASS TO BE RELEASED! (Or at least up the release mortality very significantly! Think about it: 20- 30+ lbs. of weight supported by a living creatures' jaw?... & then it has to feed again soon afterward, or eventually weaken & die? :( Just my 2 cents on this. I think that hooking and landing a fish puts alot more stress on the jaw than the boga grip does. It only takes a few seconds to get the reading on the scale. |
sorry but there is no way in hell man will ever understand women . aint going to happen . go right back to day one with adam and eve . adam said ( being causious ) "remember what God said about eating the apples on the forbidden tree " and even knowing the outcome eve said ( with abandon ) "to hell with that " and ate one so did adam but only after being called a sissy by eve . now eons later man runs with abandon and a woman is more causious . why? she bears the scar every month and they dont want the next plague ( even worse ) to come their way . and according to my lovely wife of 24 years " there isnt anything that could be worse " .
thats my answer |

If ya wear a cap backwards when fishing, do ya try it on in the store frontwards first and then spin it around when ya get home or do ya try it on in the store backwards to make sure it fits and looks ok backwards ?

Don't own Bogas, a dry top, no gaff, i caught me first twenty or so keepers on a wally world spinning combo, no gps/cell/camera/monitor gadget, no walkie-talkie, and i fish with PENN reels; incase you were wondering :fishslap:? Don't plan on publishing any books anytime soon, at least not any how-to's about surfcasting....................i'm more into writing children's books and the *fishing fantasy genre* ~*you know, "the one that got away" type stuff and "stand here, cast there" "even YOU can be a sharpie" type of chit* hey, somebody's gotta make millions doing it :huh:?? |

YUP! guilty as photoed!
that is me and my pb 30" booo from last fall, notice the hodgman's waders ($25 on sale the year before at #^^^^&'s), and my torn and tattered Carhart subzero coat (no drytop $$$$, yet). was gonna release it until this hombre asks if he could keep it. okay, i tell him, it's yours iff you'll snap my pic. small price to pay i thought. that was a FUN catch, workin it thru the wash and around the reefs. i'd prolly target boooooos more, if they could all be that big or bigger :musc: :musc:. don't have much use for the little ones. the dots in the sky are what happens when yer throwaway Kodak gets soaked more than once during the course of a season. that was also snapped for Skitterpop's benefit. wanted to show him *my bluefeesh weilding expertise*. that is from where you obtained that pic, no? "doan hate tha player, hate the Game!" :rotf3: :rotf3: |

I read a lot of books, and I was thumbing through an old fishing almanac. According to distribution charts, Redfish range as far north as Massachusetts (in the summer). Now I've done plenty of redfishing in South Carolina, but have any of you heard/seen or landed Redfish this far north?

Never heard of them this far North but it wouldn't suprise me. We never saw Mahi this far North until the last 10 years. Same with Cobia, Spanish Mackeral, a few other Southern fish that the guys are getting off of the Block and even close, during the Summer. |
heard of black drum up here before...
